Can 49ers get a good player through waivers?

Shop Find 49ers gear online
From what I understand, a waiver is when a team releases a player and the team who picks him up has to pay his contract.

So, for example, if the Bengals released Trey Hendrickson, we could pick him up as long as we are willing to pay his contract. But the Bengals then would not get any draft picks in return since it is a waived player and not a trade.

Can the 49ers get anyone good through waivers this year?

Depends on the position. And of course, on the definition of "good". Personally if I wanted to keep a player I wouldn't risk it.
We are low on the waiver wire, so if someone worthwhile gets waived they will likely get swooped up by a team worse than we are.

SADLY, the Brick AFTER Brick Brothers are clueless when it comes to finding talented players.

At this point in the season, about the only way a decent player gets waived is if there is a discipline problem...and who wants one of those on a team with a really tight locker room?

Please stop posting nonsense like this or I'll start treating it like trolling or spam. This is simply not true and everyone knows it.

allow me to APOLOGIZE if I see them differently.. we got players like Bourne who I see as a backup at the very best starting because he knows the offense.. as much as I don't like Robinson, I believe that he's a better player than Bourne and yet, he can't get his number called...

The TE we signed as a FA, can't even remember his name.. but he's been useless as well.. Skyy, what's he done aside returning one ALMOST for a TD... the young DBs they have playing should only be watching Lucas at the moment ...

the DTs they drafted after round 3, all of them looks like a darn backup... not even close to being promising..

lol i have been one of Kyle's biggest critics and even think that take is awful. This has been Kyle's best coaching performance and although they don't do as well on early round picks, they have been good about finding good players via the draft, trade and FA. Thats why they still have jobs after all this time and have been close to two Super Bowl wins.

I don't even know why I am wasting my time typing this to you, I need to examine what I am doing with my life.

Better trying to pluck someone from a Practice Squad imo.

This!!
The Bills just signed a good WR who was released on waivers from the Saints. I really hope the 49ers can find a solid pass rusher to sign off of waivers.

Brandon Cooks hasn't cooked in awhile. Not sure he still counts as a good WR.

So do about 28 other teams.

The problem is, the 49ers are so high on the claiming list that 20 teams would have to pass on a player for the 49ers to get him.
