MNF 11-24 Carolina @ 49ers - Pre-game conversation

The improving Carolina Panthers come to town for a Monday night affair at Levis on November 24. The inconsistent Panthers will be coming off a 30-27 overtime victory over the Falcons yesterday in which Bryce Young threw for a franchise record 448. That is not good news for a 49er defense that allowed the Cardinals an equally generous total yesterday. Will Saleh and the defensive staff be able to work some kind of miracle cure to stop this generosity?

In recent weeks the Panthers gave a strong defensive performance to beat the Packers 16-13 but lost the following week to the pathetic Saints 17-7. Which team shows up for this prime-time game will go a long way to determining if the 49ers can stay on course for a slot in the playoffs.

With final injury reports still to come today, there will be plenty to talk about this week.

Go...
I just wanted to be the first to post.
(After the lead post, that is)
Yeah Carolina is sneaky good and our defense scares me with our lack of pass rush and the struggles we've shown with communication with Fred out.

We're not the Falcons of course but their pass rush is a HELL of a lot better than ours and at one point(granted long ago by now) they were actually the #1 defense in points allowed heading into our game against them and Bryce Young just dropped almost 500 yards passing on them.

Team has clearly admitted they have an issue keeping the energy going after wins lately and that has to stop now. We are still a better team than them and it's a home game in prime time. HAVE to bring the best game we got with the injuries we have.

Offense once again has to be on point and not turn the ball over. Defense will have their struggles but they have to do the basics right and hope we get enough stops that the offense can get the win.

Not ideal that we may be dealing with a kicking problem again with Eddy's injury. It's absolutely critical we go on a run here and win the games we should win.

Arizona was one of them. We should be favored in each game until the Colts one. Have to win all of these and hope the bye week allows us to finish STRONG.
49ers open as 7 point favorites which is good news. If the Rams lose the previous evening on Sunday Night Football at home to Tampa and we win on Monday night, we are only 1 game back in the division and hold the tiebreaker.

Hopefully the Monday night atmosphere gets our guys pumped. Plus it will be evening time in SC so the tepid fans won't punk out because the sun was bothering them.
Our db's better pack a lunch. They got 2 big fast wrs.
Shouldn't the defensive scheme go to something like 3-3-5 with DB blitzes? Offenses will likely throw and throw.
The bad news is that Bethune and Pineiro will miss time. The good news is that the line has stayed at 7 for the Carolina game so Vegas does not think this is that significant.
Carolina is no easy win especially with this defense.
I hope Purdy has a clean game and no more would be INTs (luckily it wasn't Lenoir on the other side)... BP / the offense might have to hang something close to another 40 burger to win the game. Our defense might get abused again
No Turnovers and I think we win. Have to play a really clean game and hope the Defense can keep them under 25 points.
Seems like from her on out the 49ers will have to score 30+ per game to have any chance of getting W's . I think Purdy and Company have the weapons on O to Get it Done, But we shall see...
I don't know if this was posted on another thread or talked about before this post, but this is too coincidental for my taste

"In 2002-2003, the Ohio State Buckeyes won the National Championship; the Panthers opened the season against the Jaguars, and Jennifer Lopez divorced her husband. This all led to the Panthers going to the Super Bowl that year."

"In 2014-2015, the Buckeyes won it all, the Panthers opened the season against the Jaguars, Jennifer Lopez divorced another husband, and the franchise went back to the Super Bowl."

"In 2024-2025, the Buckeyes just won it all, the Panthers are opening against the Jags, and Lopez divorced Ben Affleck."

If the above conspiracy theory doesn't frighten, bewilder or boggle the mind, then perhaps this will

Panthers Fan drops A Beat Effing truly sad... I swear we better not freakin lose

I've always thought that in a strange way, once you pronounce the pattern, it ends there, and the last one mentioned as a possibility does not occur.
