Look, here is who we have left: Falcons, Sun, Oct 19, 5:20 pm (2-2) Texans, Sun, Oct 26, 10:00 am (2-3) at Giants, Sun, Nov 2, 10:00 am (2-4) Rams, Sun, Nov 9, 1:25 pm (4-2) at Cardinals, Sun, Nov 16, 1:05 pm (2-4) Panthers, Mon, Nov 24, 5:15 pm (3-3) at Browns, Sun, Nov 30, 10:00 am (1-5) BYE Titans, Sun, Dec 14, 1:25 pm (1-5) at Colts, Mon, Dec 22, 5:15 pm (5-1) Bears, Sun, Dec 28, 5:20 pm (2-2) Seahawks, TBA (4-2) On the surface, this still looks in our favor, but there are games here that should make the Niners nervous, and I am not talking about the obvious choices of the Rams, Colts, and Seahawks. I mean those teams that are treading around .500 (Texans and Falcons), and I will throw in a wild card that will be get me laughed out of the room, the 1-5 Cleveland Browns. That defensive line of their's is very good. Their offense? Not so much. I know, I know, but something about teams like the Browns always make me nervous; especially when I think about our offensive line's inability to get the job done. The Titans, who have a similar record, not at all.

This season should be focused on winning the division and see how far the team goes in the playoffs (where anything can happen, especially considering the erratic records of many of the "powerhouses" so far)--with the added benefit of getting the younger players experience under their belt. Any expectations greater than these tempered ones is destined to end in disappointment.

The schedule is still relatively cupcake, and the division wide open, so if the Niners can snowball a string of victories, coupled with key players coming back from injury--who knows what can happen?

Yep during the season all you should worry about is getting to the Playoffs, and hopefully getting homefield. Once you are in the Playoffs, anything could happen.

Yeah, he's a part of the Debbie Downer Crew that takes over gameday threads sometimes. I imagine he will show up at some point to inform us that Atlanta just stumbled and the 49ers still aren't that good.
