Or maybe facts from their 2025 stats so far. What happens to our cap if we cut Brock vs Mac tomorrow?

Do you need TD49ers help to move the goalposts or are you managing it all on your own?

Whew.....i thought we signed Purdy to a 250+ mil contract. After what we have seen the past 18 games especially past 6 that would have been a problem.

Was just a bad dream!
Fred Warner Kittle Demo McKivitz Juice for starters
Personally, I get the feeling this coach and front office often pay people for PAST performance, versus future reality. They seem to feel obligated to show their loyalty to awarding the prior performance. When a more ruthless approach would be the Walsh approach (although he didn't have to deal with salary cap issues) that let's people go when they are near the point their productivity starts to decline.

They also don't draft star replacements well -- if you have a star they is key to your offense/defense - in lieu of filling other less important holes, it can make sense to draft their star replacement early -- Trent Williams for example, Kittle for example, etc. So then they become hostage to these critical parts.

Deebo - top case in point

CMC - gave him a raise based on the prior year performance, and immediately his production tanked with injuries - yeah, when you use the heck out of a running back they are going to suffer from wear. That is the sober reality, 9ers ignored it.

Trent - he's still a top performer, but the decline is there. Again, rewarded with future dollars for past performance.

Kittle - Love him, but he's getting older, but his contract tweak wasn't really damaging overall.

Juice - why haven't they drafter or even "undrafted FA" his replacement?? They re-upped him this year even tho his performance declines every year.

The Chiefs are in a down year, but they seem to be able to churn their roster much better than the 9ers and yet always have a worse draft position.

I am with you on this for the most part.

Brock shouldn't have gotten a big contract knowing his injury history. Too bad they couldn't just give him a nice raise. We'll see how Mac plays going forward but the drop off isn't far from them.

Seems the broadcast found thiis worthy of discussion on TNF.

Hopefully SF has a way out of Purdy's contract, I doubt we ever see a full season out of him.

He missed 2 games due to injury in 2022-2024. Hardly some crazy amount. None of those injuries were turf toe.

s**t happens.
