Who's lived up to there big contract?

I'm going to let this thread stay open so people can comment despite the poor grammar and loaded conversation.

Kittle is not debatable at all btw. He's worth every penny not only for his impact on the field which is arguably better than any TE in the game and what he brings to the locker room and team culture.

Bosa was also worth the money. "Pedestrian numbers"? He made the PB each year after signing the contract. Dominated in the playoffs in 2023. 91+ PFF grade in the 2 years after signing the deal.

Brock is doubtful? He literally has one game post contract signing and it was a comeback win vs one of the best defenses in the NFL so far without some of his top weapons. Literally the opposite of what you just posted.

Deebo and Aiyuk are the only ones who haven't delivered on their deals and Aiyuk got a major injury which throws everything off.

Surely you aren't one of those people who complain we let so and so get away in free agency. Surely you aren't that guy.

Hard to live up to your contract when you have only played 1 game after signing it.

They have done a lot of over paying of older players. Plus players with injury history. That hasn't worked out well for this team. This front office is a mess in some ways. Some are complicated. Aiyuk didn't have an injury history. Then got a random catastrophic injury. Purdy got a big contract. Then played 1 game. Too early to tell. Deebo was kind of a mistake. Williams is injured and older. Kittle is not normally injured but he's getting older now and has been injured lately. Warner was good. As good as the contract and mostly stays healthy or plays through the injuries. Like broken bones.

Fred Warner

Bosa has been a top Defensive End in the league. And he has absolutely lived up to his contract. Kittle lived up to it. Kittle is the face of our franchise and has been underpaid cause the TE market is incredibly underpaid. Trent Williams has been well worth the money. McKivitz has been worthy of his small extension, Greenlaw completely outplayed his small extension years ago, Ward was a baller on his big contract.

Warner - worth every penny
Kittle - worth every penny
Brock - too early to tell
Williams - worth every penny
CMC - i think the raise we just gave him is a mistake and should of made him honor his contract

Personally I hate when fans attack players for injuries like it's something they want to happen. If Patrick Mahomes gets a new deal and tears his ACL the next game was signing him a mistake? Ditto for Lamar and Allen?

IMO bad big contract examples are guys like Albert Haynesworth, Nnamdi Asomugha for the Eagles, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson with Denver, Kenny Golladay. All guys who got big deals and then simply played like crap.

You can certainly say Deebo was a bad signing for us but he had a pretty good year in 2023 overall. He just never lived up to that 2021 performance.

So what are the alternatives? Don't pay your good players and let them walk?

Deebo - Signed his big deal in 2022 coming off a HUGE year. He was our one of our best players and locking him up was the right call. Hindsight is great here huh?

Kittle - Worth every penny.

Williams - You letting him walk because he's old?

Bosa - you about to see why he's worth it when our pressure rate plummets

Brock - So you get a decent QB but you don't want to pay him bc you think you can do better? Less than 10 people on earth can play better QB then Brock but you think you can find one.

Yeah and we all forgot the boss contract we have Demo Lenoir signed to. Dudes playing like top 15 CB and paid like a decent starter. The WR contracts were mistakes and we're paying for it this year. But most of the other contracts we've given out have been to absolute foundational players to this team.

I think Brock Purdy is worth every penny, but other than that I agree with your post.

Surprised this is such a triggering topic for some of you.

Good call on adding CMC.

Focusing on upper echelon contracts for the position, so I didn't include Demo. Demo's been a stud though.

Surprised at the love for Bosa. Neither his performance or his availability compares to the elites like Garrett, TJ, Hendrickson, Crosby, etc, since he signed. 8/9 sacks per year is under performing such a massive contract.

I was for trading both Deebo and Aiyuk after their hold outs.

Injuries are always a factor. Can't contribute to a Super Bowl from the sidelines.
