My eyes went a bit wide when I read that, usually a pectoral is a KIA. Good on him for coming back. I hope he's not forcing it, though. It would suck for him to make a triumphant return for a quarter then sit out the rest of the season.
I've watched the NFL religiously for the last 20 years.

I don't say this lightly, it's beyond comprehension to rationalize the injury issue with this team under Shanahan. It's truly devastating. It never gets better, only worse. I've never seen anything like this ever before.

Don't mean to single out Kittle, but maybe get in better shape in the off season instead of living on Instagram. How do you have a hamstring issue in week 1? How? clearly wasn't in shape or bothered to be.

I haven't seen anything like it before either.

I have been watching football since 1990. The only four serious injuries I can remember are Garrison Hearst and his knee vs ATL in the playoffs. Steve Young getting concussed when Lawrence Phillips blew a block, Jerry Rice and his knee and Bryant Young and his ankle.

It seems now we lose a guy every week. It must be the way they are training. Not being able to practice hard either has its flaws.

Imagine a power lifter going half assed in his training and then going full out for competition. He would tear something forsure.
I'm tempted to lock this thread and move it somewhere where it can't hurt us anymore.

This is too much…it even got Fred 😭
I don't know why people have such a hard time accepting that it's just bad luck. There isn't anything they can realistically do differently to prevent a lot of these injuries (other than not play guys at all). Kyle is just a victim, not the cause. It's bad luck, nothing more. Just accept it.

yeah it's bad luck, i get why people are looking for someone to blame, but it's just football, a sometimes brutal game.

Why has it never happened in the last 40 years? This isn't luck. It started happening when Shanahan got here.

These injuries didn't happen under Harbaugh.

I have to admit, on paper it's football. What else can it be but my brain says something else going on.

there is no rhyme or reason to having bad luck, it just happens. The injuries to Fred and Bosa and Aiyuk (and Trey/Jimmy/Brock etc etc.) happened from contact on the field, how can the head coach on the sideline possibly be responsible for these?
The only option maybe is the watered down camp and preseason. That is the big difference from history.

Maybe something to it with soft tissue injuries or things like that, but a 200+ pound human being went through Warners lower leg in a bad position. It's the nature of the sport.
