So all teams are having the excessive amount of injuries the 49ers have had in the past 8 or so years?

It varies from team to team but no team is exempt from major injuries. The 49ers had a relatively injury free year when they last went to the SB. It's kind of like that every year. The teams that are the healthiest come playoff time usually have a much better chance. The key thing with injures is the timing and who gets hurt. If the injuries occur early enough in the season and the player has a chance to heal then it's not as bad as one that happens right before the playoffs. Obviously if your QB or key receiver or a top defensive player goes down then the impact is much greater. Unfortunately that's happened to the Niners this year.

There's nothing that you can point to as a cause for the injuries. Blaming the trainers is silly. It's not like the 49er trainers use some completely different methods than other teams. It's just bad luck. I think it may just be the result of years of supplement use and over training. The body can only take so much.

It's good to see Green and Stout practice. Lenoir should be a game time decision but it doesn't sound serious. Just a contusion. Brendel out is addition by subtraction and hopefully Hennessy seizes the job and plays well vs the dominant Houston front 7. Pearsall probably won't play. Losing Huff really hurts but the Houston offense is a mess.

Did Not Participate In Practice

  • C Jake Brendel (hamstring)
  • LB Luke Gifford (hamstring)
  • DE Yetur Gross-Matos (knee, hamstring)
  • DE Bryce Huff (hamstring)
  • CB Deommodore Lenoir (quadricep)
  • WR Ricky Pearsall (knee)

Limited Participation in Practice

  • T Spencer Burford (knee)
  • QB Brock Purdy (toe)

Full Participation in Practice

  • DT Kalia Davis (hand)
  • CB Renardo Green (toe)
  • WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib, shoulder)
  • QB Mac Jones (knee, oblique)
  • CB Upton Stout (ankle)
  • DT C.J. West (thumb)

They were healthy when they went to the Super Bowl. But imo there is no other team that comes close to the 49ers in terms of injuries over the last 8 or so years. Or at least it seems that way in the surface.

I've checked the stats on occasion and the Niners aren't always the most injured team. It varies throughout the season and it doesn't factor in whether they're starters or backups. Some sites do it by how much cap money is on the IR but I don't think that's a great way to judge the impact of those injuries. The Niners certainly have had more than their share.
It looks like Lenoir, Green and Stout are good to go which is good news for our secondary.

Jennings practiced in full. Aiuyk might get his practice window opened next week. Burford should play.

We are getting healthier.

It wouldn't matter. Half our team would still get a hamstring injury

Thank you and your staff for doing an excellent job
Just make this an official thread.
That stat. 2,036 missed games since 2017. It is such a legitimate question of, WHY?
