Love Brent Jones......any true Niner fan from the old days has to!
Bill Belichick once said that his key to stopping the 49ers was to neutralize Brent Jones. He said that the offense flowed through him, and he was the focal point for those Giants' defenses.

The team HoF has only been around since 2009. Jones will be the 33rd member (player or contributor) for the 80 seasons.
Most of those are because they are also NFL HoF members.
Full list, + # of seasons as a 49er
2009 - First year was all 11 players whose number had been retired at that point, and the 6 notable 49er NFL HoFers that hadn't: Y.A. Tittle, John Henry Johnson, Dave Wilcox, Fred Dean, Eddie Debartolo Jr. and Bill Walsh.
Steve Young (13)
John Brodie (17)
Y.A. Tittle (10)
Joe Montana (14)
Joe Perry (14)
John Henry Johnson (3)
Jimmy Johnson (16)
Hugh McElhenny (9)
Ronnie Lott (10)
Dave Wilcox (11)
Charlie Kruger (15)
Leo Nomellini (14)
Fred Dean (5)
Bob St. Clair (11)
Dwight Clark (9)
Edward Debartolo Jr. (23 as owner)
Bill Walsh (10 as HC; 5 as VP or consultant)
2010 - Same year Rice entered NFL HoF. Also had 80 retired, the last 49er # to be officially retired to this day.
Jerry Rice (16)
Tony Morabito (12 as owner)
Vic Morabito (19 as owner)
2011
R.C. Owens (5)
Roger Craig (8)
2012
Gordon Soltau (10)
2013
John McVay (18 as executive)
2014
George Seifert (8 as HC; 9 as assistant coach)
2015 - Same year Haley entered NFL HoF.
Charles Haley (8)
2017
Tom Rathman (8 as player; 14 as assistant coach)
2019 - 1 year after Owens entered NFL HoF (which Owens infamously refused to attend).
Terrell Owens (8)
2020 - Young elected to NFL HoF in 2022.
Bryant Young (14)
2021 - Willis elected to NFL HoF in 2024.
John Taylor (9)
Patrick Willis (8)
2024
Frank Gore (10)
2025
Brent Jones (11)
Hats off to you sir for publishing this highly informative, definitive and interesting list. This does explain quite a bit.
Why were there a few years with no one elected? Also, what are the rules for how many players can be elected in any one year?
There's a few players missing from the Gold Rush years surely. And also some high quality OL.
Can't wait for them to make it!
So, it turns out that if you ask AI some question like, "Who is in the Eddie DeBartolo San Franciso 49ers Hall of Fame?", you some these players and then garbage too. Lol.
Thanks again for your professional answer sir .

Odd that membership of the NFL HoF qualifies players as members of the SF HoF, just for putting on a SF uniform.

No guys not at all. Thanks to Captain veggies very helpful and professional post, you can see that none of those players are actually in the 49ers Hall of Fame. They are just who AI thinks is in the 49ers Hall of Fame because AI is confused. AI is answering the question which 49ers are in the NFL Hall of Fame not which 49ers are in the 49ers Hall of Fame. Or somehow messing up the two questions in some way.
Why is this? Because AI is dumb that's why. Once you start going a little bit off the beaten path it falls down. Don't be fooled. That's why they have thousands and thousands of people trying to patch the logic and catch AI where it's failing. Anyway end of public service announcement. Long live the red and gold and thanks to Captain veg for providing excellent information.
Can't wait for Hardman and Hart to make it in. Not going to lie

Hardman and Hart were probably the best pass rushing duo the Niners ever had.

I met Hardman in a store where he was signing pictures of himself. Not sure what the reason was. He wasn't charging anything for them.
He signed mine "Mike. Truth is the quiet acceptance of what is. Cedrick Hardman #86" Very clearly written by a man that had one clear mission on the football field. Destroy the QB. Bryant Young is the official 49er sack leader with 89 but Hardman had 108. They didn't officially count sacks when he played so he's not listed as the leader. Tommy Hart had 72 so between them they had 180 sacks for ther Niners.

One Tough TE. He played in a game with a bad back, and took a real mean hit. I swore he wouldn't even get up. Popped up without any regrets making the catch. Met him at Steve Young's induction to the HOF, great guy. Always reminded me of Dave Coulier of Full House lol

Him, Ted, and Kitty are our three best. Apologies to vern. You have to be able to catch the ball to be a tight end. Too much excitement with Vern, no disrespect.

man, vernon davis you gotta go back to 2011 postseason he was on a heater. i remember when he was drafted he was one of the most exciting prospects of all time. they don't make em like vernon davis from a traits perspective. ppl talk about this kyle pitts, pitts isn't built. pitts is soft, he's a WR. davis is a freakin machine.

Vernon Davis could catch the ball. He just needed to be stopped and facing the quarterback to do it. In fairness, he actually Could also catch the ball over his shoulder, but it had to be dropped in there perfectly. No adjustments possible.
He had 13 touchdowns twice, in '09 and '13. Not bad. Just no catching range.
