I think snap count from game 1 will be more telling of what the coaches think of the roster.

II thought it was Pinnock and Sigle with Brown as backup / substitute until MM gets back. If they don't want to go with Brown then perhaps Grant or De'Vonte could get a look at backup / rotation.

De'Vonte played WR in high school, LB and safety in college, then converted to CB with the Bills after they drafted him. He's supposed to be here mainly for ST but who knows now

Who's De'vonte? And Grant was cut

Oh yea thx, I forgot about Grant

Siran De'Vonte Neal he'll be backing up Pinnock
Can someone explain the R Gage release and the corresponding MVS signing from the practice squad? The part that confusing me is they said they will sign Gage to the PS and then activate him from the PS on gameday. So why not just keep Gage on the active and activate MVS from the practice squad on gameday?

Maybe they aren't 100% on activating Gage but they definitely want MVS suited up so this gives them a little more time to decide?

I don't know why they would expose Gage while talking him up. I can speculate a bunch of reasons but none of them make much sense to me either.

The roster is really heavy on the lines, so until that gets worked out it's going to be strange.
I see NO Bergen on the team...

I don't have any clue who Luke Gifford is - I feel like I've never even heard of him hah. Is he JAG?

He was brought in to play Special Teams primarily. Guess he'll play SAM until one of the other linebackers can claim the spot.

SAMs tend to be a bigger and Gifford is easily the biggest LB on the roster. Also that position is not played often.

This is what I heard

The Steelers released Robert Woods so the 49ers moved him to the 53 so he couldn't be poached by them (he's a vet so he could've left the PS on his own accord). He signed with us over them so IDK what would change in the last weeks span to change his mind. Maybe the option to be signed to their 53 as opposed to their PS?

That actually makes sense.
Still entirely possible Sigle is the starter since the "depth chart" isn't a coach driven document, we just have to watch the game.
