Last season, Humphries appeared in two games for Kansas City, allowing three sacks and 11 pressures on 69 pass-blocking snaps (92 total snaps).

He was recoverig from a injury. Was a pro bowler before that. He was a first round pick out of Florida. This is a good pickup if he's fully recovered.

I like the signing, and I really liked him coming out of UF. Just seeing the details about his time in KC on the WZ landing page just really stuck out.

Hopefully he's healthy enough now to get back to form.
1 year removed from his ACL injury and i think he is expected to be our swing OT

good low risk signing especially if healthy

Was really much "time" in KC to begin with. He was signed in November started one game and pulled his hammy. He played a couple snaps in their final regular season game.

he clearly wasn't in shape and probably not fully recovered physically/mentally from the ACL.

He's a solid starter if healthy. See how it goes, literally have nothing to lose bringing him in for camp.

It's like we traded Moore to the Chiefs Humphries.

Pro Bowler in 2021.

That was at his prime - 4 years ago and an ACL injury ago. That's a long time in the nfl and a major injury ago. I'm not a huge on PFF grades but his best season was actually 2020 and his posting was 67 in 2021 on PFF, not impressive.

as a whole, he was never a top notch tackle IMO.Expecting him to be a stud at this point is wishful thinking but I sure hope I'm wrong. I hope he has his best year and is healthy. I'm not tryna be negative - I just don't think it's an exciting signing. He will probably only make the team cause we don't have a swing T outside of him.

We brought him in as a swing OT and I'd be surprised if his contract is anything substantial. I don't think anyone is expecting him to be a stud but I also recall people thinking Jaylon Moore is a scrub who shouldn't make the roster and he just got paid by KC(so some of the same people who claimed he sucked are likely bashing the 49ers for letting him walk)

Balance sheet likely in range:
chiefs: get Moore and pay $21M guaranteed
49ers: get Humphreys and pay $2-3M and offset comp pick when signed Mac Jones.

Same thing with Tomlinson. You honestly never know, there's a chance that he can be TW's successor here for a few years. Guys only 31.

Anyone bashing the 49ers for letting Moore walk at anything resembling that price are morons.

Healthy, motivated and focused DJH is better than Moore and the value is huge. Hopefully, that's what 49ers are getting from him

Moore was trash when he played for us. Lol idk why anyone wanted him back. I'm shocked he got paid what he did by KC. Seemed like a desperate signing

Starting RT and moving McKivitz to LG. At least that's what I would do.

Bartch and Burford looked decent at LG without the benefit of Trent. Overall Center and Swing tackle/ long term starter is what we need bad.

our fans hate on our own OL more than needed. mcglinchey is an example. he got paid like $80m. ppl here thought he was worthless. some fans want every position on the line to be on the trent HOF level.

McGlinchey, Laken, Banks, Moore. All trash leaving for fat contracts. Wait till its McKivitz next year. Injury free player in his prime and average output? Someone will see him as a bonafied starter and solution for the next 4 years at RT and give him a top 12 RT contract.

Exactly and teams being willing to wildly overpay them doesn't change that fact.
Niners obviously value offensive linemen differently in the draft than most teams. They would much rather take a risk on a veteran free agent over a draft pick any day. They also are not breaking the bank either for any of these vets. Seems like the Niners have plenty of interior options to choose from with the drafting of Colby. Hope Humphries is healthy enough and good enough to be the swing OT this year.
