Colby got a lot of RG reps when Puni was out. Everyone was complaining that must mean he was out to the LG mix.
BUT, maybe it meant that the 9ers staff had seen enough to know he was part of the best 5, and with Puni out it was a chance to get him reps and Willis reps at LG -- which would be a great player development plan because there was no way Willis was playing RG.

Colby was mixed when you look at the overall game tape. He was still too leaky in pass protection, but it was an overall good game that he can continue to build on. We need him to be serviceable. That will be huge relief for us.

dude worked hard in the offseason on his body looks totally different and improved, looks very solid now
