It's been pretty clear very few rookie WRs for Kyle meet his standard.
Pettis, Deebo and Aiyuk had the best rookie seasons as WRs here under Kyle.
Pettis in 2018 was 3rd in receiving yards at about 450 after Kittle and Bourne and tied with George for TDs
Deebo was 2nd in yards at about 800 and tied for 3rd in TDs(3)
Aiyuk led the team across the board as a rookie.
However we know how each of those turned out.
Pettis fell off real quick cuz he was soft and not at his spots. Deebo was the only guy who kept it going but did a lot of his damage taking short stuff(and a lot of people said Kyle took it easy on him for some reason) Aiuk made the dog house and Kyle talked about how he basically had no option but to play him cuz of covid as a rookie.
Basically Kyle won't play rookies unless they have the offense DOWN. Thats being at the right spots, blocking, etc. Not just about being fast or getting open.
I really wanted to see Cowing at camp and sucks he's been nursing the hamstring cuz he was in a similar boat to Watkins last year. He looked like he kept making plays but clearly wasn't where he needed to be for Kyle.
