I think that remains to be seen. I think there's a lot to like about this pick, and the rest of the draft as well. On paper, at least, it looks like it could end up being one of their better efforts, especially with Saleh back. I think maybe I liked Demeco Ryans maybe more than I liked Saleh, but I like Saleh way more than I what we've had since Ryans left. Could be an interesting year. Go Niners!

Love this guy even more after this interview.
Similar to jimrat's post. This interview with John Chapman is worth seeing. I am even more pumped for this pick after watching this. After watching this, I think the D.J. Jones comps are more than fair, not just in style of play, but in personality as well.

"I am just gunna go there and be violent with it".
Prior to Indiana Hoosiers CJ West comes from Nazareth Academy. It's a High School program in the greater Chicago area. I was asking my friend who lives in the Chicago suburbs about it. It's somewhat of a football powerhouse program. Multiple NFL guys and lots and lots of College players that they continue to have. Interesting enough JJ McCarthy - QB Vikings and CJ West - DT 49ers played on the same team together. So they know each other. Different class years. But I think won one State Championship together.

It says they are 6 times State Football Champions in the post above. That's obviously a lot. It's in La Grange Park IL. A Chicago suburb in Cook County.

Multiple NFL guys in the post above from Nazareth Academy.

2019 - Julian Love - S - Notre Dame - NY Giants - 4 - 108th overall. Current team Seahawks. 5'10-3/4" 195 lbs. 4.50 40 time.
2024 - JJ McCarthy - QB - Michigan - Vikings - 1 - 10th overall. 6'2-1/2" 219 lbs. 4.48 40 time is claimed. He didn't run at combine (hamstring). Previous timing.
2025 - CJ West - DT - Indiana - 49ers - 4 - 113th overall. 6'1-1/8" 316 lbs. 4.95 40 time. 28 reps bench at 225 lbs.

Many College players all over their board and Twitter feed. Past and present. Interestingly they have a 6'8" 300 lb. OT on their team (High School team). Don't worry the 49ers won't draft him when available.

There's a real chance we're going to look back at this draft and have our minds blown that the 49ers took Mykell Williams, Alfred Collins AND CJ West in the same draft. I'm high on all 3 guys.
