I agree that this would be the play. He looked a little wobbly when he got up.

That's me everytime I stand up. All jokes aside. Damn..

From Lynchs press conference the other day:

General manager John Lynch indicated rookie linebacker Nick Martin cleared the concussion protocol Wednesday morning.

Well that's good news.
So when lynch was asked baker Lbers I don't think I heard him mention Martin. Not sure how his is physically at this point, gotta think he's not in the cards for real role this yr.

Feel for him, never got the pick. Wonder about switch to SS or something.

Bad vibes for sure but I hope to be wrong. Kid has a LOT going against him.

New DC
Scary concussion issues
Wasn't able to get serious playing time even with injuries at the position because of those concussions and his inability to show the team enough to put him out there
New guys likely coming in to battle for the spot cuz you didn't show enough to give the team confidence

I'm tired of us thinking we're smarter than everyone else. I think it was you who brought it up the other day how we have a tendency to overdraft eary on the so called consensus maybe more than any other team with piss poor results to show for it.

Maybe I have bad memory of when we reached for guys but feels like our only shot at bucking that trend is Stout.

Also it seems like we started doing it more when the team kind of "made it" I don't know if you can look back at any picks before 2019 that was really considered a huge reach. Maybe only CJ Beathard and that was a "let Kyle sleep better at night" type of move. Most people understood he was a backup with potential to be a Kirk Cousins if it clicks for him.

I don't even know if Trey Sermon can be considered that.

Tyrion Davis-Price - big time
Cameron Latu - big time

I remember Jalen Hurd being a surprise but not sure he was a major reach and honestly everything about that pick seemed like it was going to be a hit until that crazy rash of injuries killed his career. As good as Deebo ended up being for us, the talk of training camp was Jalen Hurd. Bummer...
The position is pretty thin with Warner coming back from injury. The others under contract are Bethune, Winters, Martin, Graham and Farmer. You would think they would sign maybe 3 free agents for camp competition and draft 1 LB no later than the 4th round.

Chicago is looking to move Tremaine Edmunds. He's 27 and his cap hit is 13 million for next season. Being his last year of his contract he's a one year rental at worst and may be attainable with a mid to late round pick.
