6-6, 330 pounds+ bending after beating the guard and then selling out with the dive is impressive as f**k. There aren't many human beings alive at that size that can move like that. This is the difference between Kinlaw and Collins--Kinlaw was a stiff, linear mover with poor body control. Collins is a more fluid, looser and controlled athlete.

Keep working your craft, Alfred.

Didn't look too slow on that rep

He doesn't suck ... but he's also been obviously lost on some downs and he's stopped trying on some snaps. A lot of players get frustrated with their mistakes, the question is how he reacts to the frustration.
Trying to evaluate any rookie is hard s=ince they all come from different systems and had various levels of coaching. With only 3 pre season games that have become nothing more than scrimmages it's even harder. Collins may or may not become a good player but they certainly weren't going to give up on a guy with his size this soon.
He's a work in progress.

When he finally puts it all together he'll be a force.

You can see what they envision with him and why Saleh raves about his size, agility and footwork

I hope he's ready.

That's a hell of a rep
Before end of year, especially if healthy, he should look a lot better and do some damage in the playoffs

My expectations for him are to be an above average run stuffer, and from time to time create pressure on 1st or 2nd passing downs

That's probably the best of what he can be. CJ West and Mykel Williams will interior pass rush on 3rd down. I don't expect Collins to do that and he's not good at it. But if he can be a huge 1st and 2nd down gap plugger and run stuffer it's good. We need that. Probably drafted a little high. But lets wait and see. We did need a huge gap plugger. We had a shorter one who was not a highly drafted guy. Now we got a tall, huge guy with long arms to bat down passes and alter passes. I at least see the vision. Not sure if it works or not. But I understand why they did it for sure. We do need that.

Don't know that it's certain West will be a better pass rusher than Collins. It's just something Collins was literally never asked to do.

Leading up to the draft there were some people who thought he could develop into the best IDL in the entire class, but no question it's going to take time.

He was picked in round 2 not rounds 4-7

Derrick Brown was the 7rd pick in the draft and has managed to average 1.6 sacks a year. Doesn't seem at all a reach to think Collins could replicate that this year. Should Brown have been drafted in the 4th round?

And he was just the first dominant space eater DT I thought of.

Brown is a star DT and is on a ~$100M contract.

Collins has a lot of work to do but he could be a star and 43rd could be a steal.
