Watched the highlights and saw him bust through a double team to create pressure, didn't see the 20 yard throw back lol
I'm confident in saying there has never been a DT pushed back 20 yards in NFL history

Only one I recall was on the goal line TD, I think he got pushed back …not 20 yds though

I can't tell where he's at in the replay but the line as a whole barely moved and the run went essentially off tackle because the raiders guard was stone walled

On the Raiders first running play I think he gets pushed back about 5 yards

Sorry I was thinking of a different play where they stuffed the run and he got pushed back
DT Alfred CollinsThe second-round rookie defensive tackle is big enough to occupy space, but his slow get-off was again noticeable after he had a quiet performance in the preseason opener. It will be interesting to see how much the 49ers can play him early in the season.

As Barrows said, his get-off is like an old man getting out of the bathtub. Definitely something to work on.

Didn't watch the game, how'd he play?

I would like to hear as well. Some film break downs would be nice too. I saw some people questioning his motor but others posted clips of him chasing plays down quite well. I also hear people speak of pad level and I wonder if they are just regurgitating cliche's bc I havent seen evidence of bad pad level yet.

From what I've seen he does chase down plays in the flat but at times looks exhausted. Not good from what I remember still getting pushed back in the running game, like 5 yards back. Our IDL run defense looks even worse than last year. Hopefully when all the starters are out there healthy it looks better, Collins does not look ready at all to be a starter

Was a run play where he was double teamed and driven back further and with more ease than I've seen in recent memory. In the first half. His slow get off and poor leverage is gonna be a significant liability. Don't expect him to be Vita Vae any time soon.

Pretty sure I saw Ray Brown do something close once. (It was more than 10 yards, may not have made it all the way to 20)

Definitely seems to quit on plays at times.
His job is to occupy space, eat up gaps and occupy blockers. So he's never going to make splash plays. He won't get to the QB or RB much. Won't show up in the stat sheet. People will say he's a bust. But it's not the style of player he is. He has to be a huge guy who occupies people. While Warner, Winters, Martin, Sigle fly in and make the plays. He may still be able to do that. You have to wait and see. You have to evaluate him on what he does. He's not a stat sheet guy and never will be.
