He absolutely destroyed his man. Hands were on the shoulder pads. Not a penalty. Not illegal hands to the face. But he dominated and destroyed the blocker so badly driving him violently backwards the refs though it must be a foul. Not realizing the brute strength of Mykel Williams. Same thing as Stout. He gets penalized when he makes the spectacular play. It's really getting old.

that was such a bs call

Yeah I agree. It was awful. Dude got absolutely destroyed CLEANLY. Ref couldn't believe his eyes. So thought it was a penalty. It was just a typical dominant Mykel play. Driving guys back and setting the edge.

Mykel was whoopin' his man so bad the refs had to throw a flag.
Mykel with the instant pressure in backfield on last play to allow Fred and others in to stop them on 4th down. Also good rally from everyone else.

Yeah he destroyed his guy on that play too. He seems to do that a lot on running plays. He's amazing.

Loving this pick at the moment. Him and Huff are polar opposites.

He was a great pick. I didn't realize at first how good of a pick he was. I think they really hit on this one.

Can't put my finger on a good comparison, Cowboy? Buckner? He's not really an edge rusher right now but he's consistently dominating his gap as a rookie

He's a crush and destroy the man right in front of you. Not a twitchy, fast edge rusher around the corner. I think he plays most like Armstead. But not the exact same body type. Each player is really their own. But something like that.

Is there a chance he gets some bend to him as far as turning the corner on the outside or is that just never going to be his game?

Arik Armstead in so many ways. Both big, long, strong; not the greatest gets offs, but once they've got their arms fully extended on defenders, they take them for a ride. Both guys dominate their gap.

AA was always doing the dirty work that goes unnoticed in the trenches, and it took AA a few years before he became a legitimate pass rusher. I expect a similar career trajectory for Mykel.

I don't think that is his game ever. It was not at Georgia. Probably won't be now. I was skeptical at first. But if you can destroy guys this bad I'm starting to come around to the fact that yes he's probably worth that pick. He's so good at what he does it's almost ridiculous. Looks like a man among boys. He just will never be a natural come around the corner pass rusher. Which is ok. We have other guys for that.

If he can stay healthy all year, we might get a 2018 version of AA, which is a very solid rookie year. I think with a healthy Dline and even better offense, I think Williams will pick up some sacks (more pass rush opportunities with leads). But I like what we have in our rookie defenders.

I'm seeing clelin ferrell so far. Same size. Solid run defense, high motor, very limited pass rush.

Lot of potential and growth for him yet though.

The inside line looks very good for the future but they got nothing on that edge opposite Huff or whoever is out there. Mykel maybe an Armstead with a little more power.I wasn't isolated on him, much more so the edge rush. Against the great ones you have to have at least decent push up the middle but you have two good to great edges. We aren't beating Buffalo with this unless it's a miracle
Those refs really f**ked him with the illegal use of hands penalty. That s**t was so clean, horrible call trying to help the rams.
