Regardless, no reason for him to move inside full time.

Have you seen our inside run defense? Full time I hope not unless he beasts there but we might need to use him there more than outside while West and Collins hopefully develop

The whole discussion started with someone asking if it made sense to make him a full time DT, and my answer was that he was too light to hold up there full time.

At short yard situations you'd definitely want bigger bodies inside otherwise I'd put Mykel at DT and Huff/Gross outside. Full time no but I don't think it's crazy to let him play inside a majority unless one of our DTs step up consistently

You've seen none of our DTs play under Saleh in a regular season game but there's an issue with our DTs?

Mykel has played zero snaps in the NFL (de or otherwise) and somehow you think he's some type of legit DT in the NFL??

What is this lol

You know there are 3 new run stuffing DTs on the roster right?

I know about West and Collins, neither looked ready to me not that they won't be eventually. I'd rather roll with our #11 pick who's a good run defender, wants to play some inside and from reports before being injured looked the part

I've seen them get blown up by backups in the preseason which concerns me. True we have seen Mykel but he's the #11 pick known for his run defense and capable of playing inside. If it's 3rd and 3 definitely put him at DE and sub in either Davis/Collins/West and take out huff/gross

This is why I'm super-excited for tomorrow,...lol. Not necessarily because of the win,...but so legit discussion can actually begin. Maybe.
I hope we put Seattle in third and longs with this lineup in Darnold's face

Bosa - West - Mykel - Huff muahaha while Fred and Dee are running wild and upton stout is choke slammin a Seahawks

the reality is that if we can put pressure on Darnold, he's a totally different player (in a negative way). If we let them establish the run game and use PA - we are most likely screwed

Time to show what you got young fella.
Hope he shows something good today but I feel like Martin is going to make more plays and be the highlight from this years draft class.

Doubt we see much of Martin Dee Winters will be the starter next to Warner

Jordan Jefferson.

The original conversation was about careers not just this game.

Even if it is just this one game pointing at last years run defense with a number of different players on defense and a different person running the scheme seems like a hollow argument to try to make. This defense is not very much like last year's defense.

Probably Davis over West.

I really want to see who gets what in the snap count. Saleh loves a deep rotation, so I suspect we'll see snaps for a lot of players ... particularly if the 49ers get ahead or if they are struggling on defense.
I'm really looking forward to him playing. Alfred Collins and CJ West too. Nick Martin to the degree he plays. Which is probably special teams mostly. But he may get some action. But I want to see Mykel Williams have an impact. That would be great for this team if he turns into something good.

First off, OUR backups played against denvers starters and allowed no points, got plenty of pressure

Secondly, you have seen every player in NFL history at some point get "blown up" by backups of you were to watch ever practice/preseason snap. Third, don't put too much stock into preseason, good or bad. Coaches are testing things, players are testing things, let's see what happens.

Lastly, if the 49ers DL was getting absolutely destroyed top to bottom we'd have given up 50 points a game and lost all of our preseason games
Please ball out Mykel!
