Depends on how healthy Simmons is. He had the same injury that ended Richburg's career. There's no guarantee that he's ever back to 100%. There's still a lot of skepticism that he'll be ready to go for Week 1.

Dude passes the Ayton test.

They put themselves in the situation to try though. Moore can hold it down while Simmons recovers, and means they don't have to entertain extending Taylor.

They're just a better ran franchise to us and we have to accept it. If we believed in Purdy enough he'd be signed to an 8 year + deal so we can mess with his cap hits like the Chiefs have done.

Fair enough they gambled and won with Mahomes, but they had the foresight to evaluate him properly.

Our Front office are too stubborn and unwilling to be flexible on their pre conceived notions.

Oh yeah Simmons and his bad knee is such a great pick by the Chiefs. Wow.
I'm pretty sure that if Lynch had made a trade up to take him, it would have been CrybabyMania here.
As for Campbell, there's a better LB from UCLA still on the board but whatever I guess, Howie and Veach are so awesome right? They never make mistake.
Like they wouldn't draft Jalen Reagor instead of Justin Jefferson or Clyde Edwards Bellaire at the end of the first round.
Oh by the way who was the guy the Chiefs took before Renardo Green last year? IIRC, John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan were such giant morons to not draft him.

Great pick imo

Already great at holding the edge and will improve the run D witht he upside to be a great pass rusher. Just needs to work on technique already has the physical tools. So at worst he can hold the edge and improve the run D with situational pass rush upside

I

I've personally experienced the injury and where our team is at we couldn't afford to take the risk. Another reason they're a better ran franchise, because they can.

Campbell, a LB from Alabama with a bad shoulder. if the 49ers had picked him, people here would be losing their minds and calling him Froster V2.0.

i wasnt a huge fan of Campbell if i am being honest a bit slow to diagnose the run and isn't the best in coverage.

He is super athlethic and great at blitzing though but not a fit for what we need

Oh come on. What else is the dude gonna say? I guarantee 90% of players say they prefer a Super Bowl but would absolutely take the money instead when it comes down to it. Look at Myles Garrett just two months ago.

Why is that a good thing? They also wanted Ruben foster.

The good news is that they got who they wanted.

The bad news also is they got who they wanted.

They wanted a guy who could rush the passer AND set a hard edge against the run, something that is very important in the Wide 9. Last year we didn't have that and you see what happened.

Multiple observers predicted the 49ers would pick exactly a guy like Mykel...and they did. How is that bad news?
i like the pick. edge you can't find elite guys like this up and down the draft. gotta get em early. now this player is young so i don't expect him to play right away or every down. he will rotate in or be a situational pass rusher to start. he's got a lot of development ahead, he's hardly a finished product. I rate the pick a A. this is what you want to do, don't panic, don't trade up, just stay pat and take your guy. it's a very important position, as well as a position of need, and he's a high end young prospect.
The doom and gloom squad out in full force

Bosa was a no brainer. Lynch has missed on quite a bit. Anyone else would be fired from their job based on the above. We shall see about williams, but lynch does not deserve anyone's trust at this point.

How was McGlinchey a bad pick? He got a massive contract from another team. I also won't hold their very first picks against them because everyone was still learning on the job with little experience running a draft. They've grown a ton since their first year and I don't think that Lance pick ever happens if the country wasn't going through turmoil and screwed up the entire draft. The only pick that was a complete reach was Kinlaw, and he just signed a big contract with a contender.

Y'all criticize this front office draft selections way too much.

Lol

Kinlaw got a massive contract too, so how was he a bad pick if that's the criteria?
