I agree we have been missing a guy out like for a while. Hell I even lobbied for some bigger guys out the past couple years. But to take one at 11?

Maybe they're still in the cheap mode mindset. Let's draft an adequate guy that will be cheaper to resign down the road.

Simply disagree entirely

which makes me feel better

Hoping for the best on Williams but either way, this season, we need root for the Falcons cuz they just GIFTED their '26 1st rounder to the LAms. LA is already the odds on fave to win the west in '25. Imagine if they get a top 10 draft pick "QB of the future" in the deep QB class of '26!

Falcons winning the south next year, so it'll be in the late 20s.

The good news is that they got who they wanted.

The bad news also is they got who they wanted.

Hell no to Sawyer, but yes I like Jackson in that role. They are banking that we can get more pass rush out of him, and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. For me that's too much of a risk, but I hope they're right.

Well Kriz, at least we both knew they wouldn't give us what we wanted! It was always going to be about tonight, this is where to separate ourselves. Couple of Day 3 gems would be lovely too.

What a troll thing to say
He's a solid pick. Williams fills a huge area of need at a premium position. His measurables are comparable to the best ends in the game. His work ethic is top notch and he's considered a leader in the locker room. He's great against the run which is key when you're facing Philadelphia and Washington. Questions about the injury and whether the lack of production was about the injury or the play. Ultimately, he's a powerful, high motor guy with what you're looking for in a prospect. I like him more than I like Shemar Stewart.

This is just because he called it, Walker to Falcons and Warren to the Colts are much better player to team fits. Simmons to Chiefs and obviously Campbell to the Eagles are better too, and Hampton to the Chargers, Barron to the Broncos, Zabel to the Seahawks. Hell Jeanty to the Raiders is better.
Keep seeing people saying Williams was a plan B

We ran our pick to the podium
News today is we even tried to trade up
Reports are our defensive coaching staff absolutely love this guy (Kocurek and Saleh)

We don't know how it pans out down the road but we 100% got a top selection from our internal draft board

Campbell to the Eagles really sucks. So does Simmons being scooped up in KC.

I like Williams for what he is. We do need what he brings. 11 too early for me on an edge setter. I do agree with everyone that at worst he'll be great at that. I'm just not a "he's only 20" kind of guy. We traveled that road once before.

As for given us what we wanted. I wanted Barron but was perfectly fine with Nolen or Harmon. Heck, wouldn't have hated Grant.

He definitely brings what we need. Can't wait til he's 23

The lack of production was a little about the injury but mostly about Georgia being stacked on the Dline so they had a rotation which limited his snaps. I like the pick!

This is what drinking the Kool-aid looks like. That's one explanation, another is that he's just not that good at rushing the passer. We shall see, but I for one have stopped just assuming that they're right.
