Yeah.. This was just another classic JL DL s**t pick

Given how the board fell, it wasn't a bad pick. The only other guys I liked were OG's, but they usually never go that high so I get it.... Mykel was already making a huge different in the run. The pass rush if at all we knew would come later. He was a logical compliment to Bosa. Hopefully he has a 100% recovery and can hit the ground running next camp.

Tyler Warren has entered the chat. Would have been a monster next to Kittle. And taken over once he retires. As terrible as our weapons have been this season he would have been a godsend
Need to time to fully assess the pick. A few months in everyone called Collins a bust. Now he is trending to be a long term starter and maybe even more.

I would rather have them drafted an OG like Booker over a guy who's only legitimate trait is he can stop the run. At 11 that is insanely high for that. At the very least you're trying to protect your 50Mil investment that way.

Once again…keep this about Mykel.

if you want to talk about who should've been the pick there are several other places where that makes more sense.

Right…like Nick Bosa?

Mykel was a fine pick. Some of you guys clearly have one method of evaluating DLmen and it's stat based.

An injury is a curve ball to his career and development which is terrible but this idea that he was a bad pick is ridiculous and has nothing behind it but simple "he didn't get a lot of sacks tho!"

Bosa was a no brainer.

Some of these same fans heads might explode if they knew that Saleh has said in the past that sacks are an overrated statistic and pressures are a more accurate measure of a pass rushers performance.

Bill Belichick has also echoed the very same sentiment.

Not to everyone in here. There was plenty of criticism of the pick.

More than half of Mykell's pressures are from the QB holding the ball. It's not like he's blowing by guys and getting there but not getting sacks.

This wasn't about his number of pressures per se, we are only a handful of games into his career.

Just a general post because some fans think sack numbers are an accurate measurement of any and all pass rushers performance when that isn't the case.

You got a stat on that?

Pressures are only given out when defenders beat their blockers. You can get sacks how you claim he's getting his pressures but you can't get pressures.

So what else you got?
I went back and look at other DT and edges we could have had after him and none have done anything. Only Walker is even close and he still hasn't had the impact Williams has had. I think other than drafting a different position he has been doing just fine and the ramp is promising.
