It's not that hard. He's the backup and so he'll go back to the bench, but the backup QB has always been one of the most important positions on this team. We should keep him around for as long as we can.

Not too sure about that, sounds like Purdy will be gone for awhile. And if Mac Jones continues to ball,it's not completely out the question. offensive line might have something to say about it though.

The truth is that when Mac has had good offensive coaches around him - he's been a good qb in this league.

After his rookie year, to this year, he had awful coaches. Awful talent around him. No development etc.

i knew Mac would be a solid backup if he had to play for us but he's def played better than I expected

The nfl is wild - the fact we were widely expected to draft him in 2021, and then nearly all the selections being a complete debacle, and he's here now. Revitalizing his career and saving our season - winning important games in an impressive way.

usually you don't really get to see "what if we took X player instead of Y" but we are here. It was clear at the time that Mac was the most logical choice, just not an exciting one, and didn't seem to have a high "ceiling".

with hindsight, Mac should of been the player cause that roster was in "win now" mode and having such a green qb like Trey didn't make any sense, IMO.

is what it is - I'm glad to see him thriving with us.

Mac Jones signed a two year contract with us, what is he even worth in a trade right now?

I don't think the draft pick we would receive would be worth anything, 5th-6th round pick maybe?
