Not comparing the player, I'm saying Jimmy was signed as a starter in Las Vegas and the 49ers were only awarded a 4th round comp. He signed a 3 yr 72m contract which was a good sized contract at the time. Jones is likely not getting a big contract when he leaves. They only got a 4th comp for Jimmy. They aren't getting a 3rd round comp for Jones unless he signs a massive contract which is unlikely.

9ers were only awarded a 4th because he didnt play enough. Its not just about how much a guy signs for, how much they play in the subsequent season also matters.

Unless you get a very high 2nd round pick, I would not trade him.
Also there is no guarantee of a comp pick. 9ers would have to sign fewer qualifying fas then they lose.

History shows us that that is pretty much a guarantee.

Depends on what is needed in 27.

I wouldve thought JJ was gonna a be a guarantee comp but it wont be now.

I would love that, but its his last year and odds are he wont be back. If someone has a low 2 high 3 I would listen. The only other thing i could imagine is a QB going down early next season and they trade him for a pick in the 27 draft.

Tua is a heavy RPO usage QB. Not sure how that fits here.

Tua is going to get carried out of the stadium on a stretcher the first time he gets whacked for the Falcons. I am really surprised that the NFL is allowing him to stay in the league. His brain is toast.

As well it should be. 49ers hold all the cards on this 1.How many if any teams can say that they have True Starter as there #2?? No way 49ers would even be in the Playoffs last year with out Mac. So why trade him for a sack of potatoes...

How many teams that have holes all over the roster would hoard a backup that they could get a draft pick for?

The answer is one, apparently.

Ill say this. With Mac Jones 49ers have Money in the Bank. Why Trade for an Unknown commodity??

Like the Great Jim Harbaugh once said: "Were the 49ers, we can do whatever we want"

That was in regards to him being our backup
I can't fathom asking a first rounder. No one is paying that. And everyone knows he isn't worth that. Starting caliber yes, but he's probably not worth more than two thirds, maybe a second and fifth.

Welp his worth a first to the 49ers at this Point. Everyone over pays for QB'S in the NFL

It's them basically saying he's not for sale. Kyle thinks he's a starter in the league and he's basically free this yr.

I mean SF shouldn't be taking a 4th for him either. We don't need another trash RB lol. Is what it is, if teams truly valued him they would send over legit offers. Not happening so whatever

I'd take either of those deals
