What happened to all the interest Mac was going to get?

Too many other options unfortunately. Can see something happening after June, but not anytime soon.

LOL

Based on how the people in this thread have been behaving up until this point, I would have thought he was the only reasonable option out there.

Simple fact is, as respectable as he played for us in 2025, he is still Mac Jones.

Actually two of the options are for player minimum and that helps. While you figure things out. Both Kyler and Tua already paid.

IMO Minnesota was the only real possibility from the very beginning. With rumors of Kyler going there i just never seen another destination possible
Why woukd O'Connell actually have interest in Kyler? He cant run his offense.

Kyler is going to Jets.

Simply put, he's more valuable to us right now vs. other teams. He's still a trade candidate, but it will likely be for 2027 draft considerations. He's definitely someone teams would consider if they have major injury to their QB unit in pre-season or early on in the season.

And that's OK. Purdy has had injuries, so we need a solid backup.

If the 9ers were only asking for a late round pick Mac Jones would've been traded already. But you say that he's still Mac Jones yet you don't know how high of a pick the 9ers are asking. A QB doesn't go 5-3 then say oh it's only Mac Jones.

I am not saying Mac Jones is a bad QB, but there have been many many bad QBs who have won 5 games over an 8 game stretch.

You're a better man than me, lol.
next year he is an easy 3rd or 4th round comp pick.
So why should we settle for such compensation?

Right now as Smokey posted, it seems 9ers are over valuing Mac Jones. Shoot, if they only wanted a 3rd round pick I'd take that in a heartbeat.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda talking out of my ass there and just assumed that there were a lot of bad QBs who have won 5 games in an 8 game stretch before.

So I decided to look it up:

Justin Fields went 5-3 over 8 games in 2024.
Zach Wilson went 5-3 over 8 games in 2022.
Anthony Richardson went 5-3 over 8 games in 2024.
Tim Tebow went 7-1 over 8 games in 2011.
Shaun Hill went 5-3 over 8 games in 2008 (for us).
Blake Bortles went 7-1 over 8 games in 2017.
Kenny Pickett went 6-2 over 8 games in 2022.
Kenny Pickett went 6-2 over 8 games in 2023.

I could probably keep going, but I rest my case.
