I feel that a player will be part of the trade (or atleast the offers) along with draft picks.
So many teams need a QB and run the Shanahan/McVay style of O. They've seen how efficient Mac can be in that system even while injured and missing weapons.

Mac definitely wouldnt be happy if he wasnt traded because obviously he wants to start. But I still think I only trade him if I can get at least 2nd rounder for him and not like a late 2nd rounder.

Exactly how I felt about how Mac performed running a MASH unit. Beat the Rams in LA with all top weapons out aside from CMC. Had KB ballin. Man you can't make this up. Dude balled out in this offense

2nd rounders in the Shanahan Era:
Dante Pettis, Deebo Samuel, Aaron Banks, Drake Jackson, Renardo Green, Alfred Collins
Of that list, only Deebo was worth more than Mac Jones.
If Brock is out nursing turf toe is there anyone here who'd rather have Aaron Banks than Mac Jones?
That's why it makes no sense to trade Mac.

I still think he's worth a first...not sure why not if Ty Simpson is/could be a first. Two seconds would do it.

Personally I bring him into the season and find a good #3 that I can trust. At some point some team is going to need a QB like Indy did and will pay up the wazoo to secure the playoffs.

At some point Brock has to just not get injured - same goes for the rest of the team.
A second round pick could be Aaron Banks. Could also be a regular pro bowler, or could be used to move up in Rd1 to improve the DL or OL or flipped to trade for a proven player.
Can't keep the safety net forever, especially if it's at the expense of a guy who could be a difference maker on the field instead of a security blanket off it.

Probably not doable for Brock. Not just because he's a little guy but his style of play puts him at risk to big hits. I'll give him props for taking shots to complete things but some times they are unnecessary.

We need one of the early 2nd round teams to fall in love with him.

All this hype over Malik Willis!! But would you rather have Willis for $20+ million a year or Mac Jones for a 2nd round pick? IMO Mac Jones is thee best option out there if I was a first time head coach looking for a QB. Yes I'm looking at you NYJ and Miami!!!

The Team that trades for Mac also has to sign him. He's not gonna start for 5 million.
