That is high 2nd round value. They can kick rocks if they want an affordable starting QB.
Drop #75 and make it their #43, then it is a no brainer.

For a team with as many holes as we do, I am taking three third rounders over a second rounder....but I see the argument. Bottom line is, I highly doubt we are getting that much for him.

Oh i was saying drop their highest 3rd rounder and take the 2nd, middle 3rd, and last 3rd.

My opinion is (unless you are a good situation as a thank you to Mac) if your offer is not equal to a late 1st kick rocks.

This is a desert offseason, and the niners have an oasis.

Rodgers, D.Jones, M.Willis, Jimmy, Flacco, R.Wilson are all F/As. Guys like A.Richardson, Z.Wilson and even possibly K.Murray will be available as reclamation projects. Today K.Cousins has been announced as being released on the first day of the new year. The QB market is not a desert this offseason.

Wow that's a whole lot of trash imo. The fact that someone is gonna pay Willis $50M tells you how s**tty the market is.

most of those names are backend bridge QBs. I would assume if you're trading anything of value for Mac it's because you think he's gonna be your starter (in hopes of it being more than this yr). Similar to what Daniel Jones did in INDY (they're gonna resign him).

Short of Rodgers(maybe Jone(Indy) and Willis), if any of those guys are the QB 1 that team is in trouble.

And Mac Jones is no more a guarantee which he is why his value is limited.

I read the same thing about S Darnold last year.

Why? He's worth a little over $1M this year via a trade. You can either give him an extension (that includes that $1M this yr) which will be less than what Willis would make on the open market, or you got him on a one yr basically free deal.

That doesn't make his value limited in the slightest

If you can't guarantee an extension for the traded value then you are simply throwing it away for a 1 year rental. Teams don't really do that with 2nd rounders which I think is what it will take to pry him away from Kyle.

If the 49ers don't trade Mac they are delusional about where they are now and what their future looks like imo.

I want the 49ers to trade him if the price is right but last year proved your statement to be incorrect.
Somebody please explain to me why Ty Simpson has been mocked to the Steelers at Round 1, Pick 21, and Mac Jones is only worth a third rounder to most people...what am I missing? Isn't Jones 10x more of a sure thing than Simpson? Why wouldn't the Steelers trade the #21 directly for Jones instead of a mediocre college guy?

I would say yes but I have a feeling a lot of teams would rather go with the risk of a talented unknown and develop them from the ground up than someone they see with faults in their career. Jones also will be looking to get paid soon a rookie buys you time in that sense.

Appreciate your answer...I always wonder why many say," Love to keep him, but if someone flips us a third, he's gotta go..." He's worth way more than that to me if I have a decent team with a weak QB. If you don't agree, please tell me why you should be able to fix your QB position for a third. Sincerely curious.
