I'd pull the trigger even with Addison issues. They had no problem signing Robinson . Would love to keep him, but this helps fill a few holes.

How about this trade? Niners and Vikings swap positions in the first round and they throw in Addison for Mac. I want to move up in the draft. If adding Addison is too rich, they can throw in a prospect or like another 4th rounder.

I'd find it hard to believe that the 49ers want Addison given all of his off-field issues. That guy is a f**king moron and unreliable. He was literally just arrested a few weeks ago...he's not going to change. He is who he is. It's a dumb move to give away a valuable resource like Mac for a guy who might not even last long on the team.

After dealing with idiots in the past like Reuben and going through what they did with BA, pass on Addison. Find a talented WR elsewhere.

In order to compete for high playoff achievement in the modern NFL 17 game season we need depth in the qb room. We have to keep mac. We dont have a top 10 oli e.
Here's what will happen. We trade Mac to Minny in an exchange for first round draft picks. With the 18th pick, Lynch will draft a player that grades out at pick 27…

Ok…I'm being dramatic and joking on purpose but……..:(

He got arrest for the same thing Robinson did and we signed him. Charges dropped on the last incident, which was him refusing to leave some casino or something. Ruben and Addison aren't the same level of stupid. Not every player on your team is gonna be clean cut.

Mac's not lasting past this year all the same. Addison and a day 2 pick is a great deal given need, talent and the fact Mac is our backup and that's not gonna change.

This, and last year was a perfect example having Jones come in and help win games as one of the top QB2s in the league. Now, if a team like the Vikings want to offer a 2nd for him then you have to strongly consider that.

As Lynch said, "Mac made this place better. He was outstanding this season. He picked us up in a huge way, and it was a really fun process to watch him come in, and the joy that he was playing with. He's got an infectious attitude that affects everybody on our team. And so, I can't say enough about Mac. Not only his play...his leadership ... I think Mac did that all season. And so, he's been an outstanding addition. Like Kyle said, you always listen, but I know we're a better football team with Mac Jones on our roster."

Well Kirk Cousins is expected to be released per Rotoworld.com. So I bet Shanahan either has him on speed dial or he looks for the next 1st round flame out in Zach Wilson?

I'm in favor of trading Mac, so that not the holdup for me. I also agree that you don't need clean-cut guys at every spot. But Jordan Addison is flat-out a low IQ moron. This is different than Demarcus Robinson, who has been in the NFL for 10 years and had one or two incidents. Addison has only been in the NFL for 3 years and has had an incident every single year. A few weeks ago was the 2nd time he was arrested and 3rd incident with the law. There's a pattern of behavior here that's trending in a really bad direction. They also need to pay him if they trade for him. It's a incredibly risky move in every single way that the Niners can't afford. They desperately need every single draft, trade and financial resource they have because they've already wasted a s**t ton of them the last 5 years.

btw, I totally believe the 49ers like Jordan Addison. The guy is a young Emmanuel Sanders, who was one of Kyle's most beloved players.

MIN was dumb to get rid of Darnold and they paid for it lol. Good for him he got to the SB, even though, a Seacawk.
Love Mac, would like to keep but if we get some great picks, off ya go lol

Shanny can finally get his dream man His presence might just keep Shanny calmer during big moments and therefore, he won't s**t the bed..then we get a ring.

High playoff achievement like say, making the CCG?

Well here are the four backup QBs for the teams in the CCGs....

Drew Lock, Jimmy G, Jared Stidhim, Josh Dobbs

Here are rhe four backup QBs for the teams in last year's CCGs....

Mitch Trubisky, Carson Wentz, Kenny Pickett, Marcus Mariota

So yeah, I call BS on your claim that you "need" to have depth. Is it nice? Sure. But as demonstrated above, you can get a backup QB for peanuts every single offseason that can easily fill the QB2 role. None of those 8 QBs are any good.

If we could get something of value for Mac, we absolutely should, and then just pick up someone else.

I agree in general, but Denver paid the price for a less-than-competent QB.

This. Over the course of a long 17-game season plus the grinding playoffs, nowadays you're rolling the dice if you're a good team yet you don't have a pretty good QB2. Denver found out the hard way. The two remaining teams are very fortunate their QB1s remained healthy throughout the season (hopefully Maye is ok for the SB - sounds like he will be).

The Niners were very smart to bring aboard a QB the caliber of Jones as their backup. And to get him to agree to a two-year contract was even smarter to give the team options. He helped save their season, but nothing could save having injuries to such impact players as Warner, Bosa & Kittle. But having Jones at least give them a chance this season.

Only a 2nd Rd. pick or better would I consider trading Jones. Unless it's a lesser pick plus an impact player at a position they need such as WR.

It is about weighing it.
If they REALLY like Rourke(like they did Purdy), you almost have to trade Jones if it is a 33-43 pick.

If Rourke is viewed as a good backup, but not a starter, then you sit and make teams beg for him.

This years draft class also helps his trade value a lot. Even if healthy i am not confident this is a SB team, so a backup QB that can be a starting WR/OL/TE or S/LB/DL is not a good choice. Then you give Mac an opportunity to get paid, maybe even on a good team.

So you have the
Jets at 2(x) 16 33 and 44.
Browns at 6(x) 24 and 39.
Miami at 11(?) and 43 plus some system players.
Pit at 21

Then from there Minn at 18 and 43.
AZ at 34 and 65.
They'll get a 2nd rounder for him
