This means I'm okay to see Greenlaw go, or Ward go, etc. I don't think we should be looking at another old, aging pass rusher (e.g. Bosa), or an old WR (e.g. Adams). It's time to rip the band-aid off and move forward. The Shanahan-era 49ers have been generally quite good at roster management but they really harmed this team with the contracts they gave out last off-season.
Show how the contracts have harmed us

Deebo's contract didn't harm us ?
Aiyuk's contract didn't harm us ?

oh boy

I say retool. A right tackle at #11 to replace McKivitz and eventually take over for Trent plus a left guard and center. A DT or two and an Edge rusher. A corner to replace Ward; a WR or two with separation ability. The FO is going to have to come up with some steals in this draft but I believe they can do it. I don't believe free agency is going to help because of the cut to the cap after trading Deebo. With health, some luck, and this last place schedule, Kyle is going to have to start trusting rookies. There is a possibility of playoffs and that's about it. Next year will look better for us

I agree with this but know our drafters tendencies. If the top OT is there we should draft a RT, but I think C is a bigger weakness.

I could see is going edge 1st or the top TE from Penn, then a C in the 2nd.

I've learned from all these years Lynch and Shanny never draft what we all think is the obvious need.
Rebuild everything. Fire everyone, including the tea ladies. Tear down the stadium and rebuild that too. Move the team to Saudi Arabia (it's coming, just you wait).

We need players at all those spots. They also need a LB because Greenlaw may not be back and he gets hurt a lot. LB is an important spot for the wide 9 defense. A safety to replace Huff would be nice. Lot's of possibilities.

I hope and think we target a vet C in FA. That's Shanahan's MO and I think we have a chance to stick to that with Dalman, Ryan Kelly being my top 2 options in that order.

What C is worth #43 in this draft?

Highly unlikely that a tackle drafted at #11 replaces Mckivitz this season.

Can we do our fans as well? That's where we desperately need a rebuild

Could always slide in at LG. McKivitz has 1 year left. Trent is no spring chicken. OT makes a lot of sense and while Colton improved and knows the offense, he very well could be beaten out and id hope Kyle and Forester learned with Puni last year.
