Should we be sellers at trade deadline?

If we lose to Dallas we will sell I believe. I don't think this team can beat the top teams this year.

At some point team needs to think big picture. This team, as currently constructed, is not going to contend for a SB. Will be lucky to even make the playoffs with the brutal schedule that's left. So what's the point of holding on to players like Ward for a few more games? If we can offload him for some draft capital that can help towards next year, then they should definitely do that instead.

I just don't see how this team recovers once CMC comes back. It seems like the fans are banking that once CMC comes back, this offense will be a powerhouse. But that completely ignores that we still have a horrible STs and an avg defense. Plus can't rely on CMC's damaged Achilles to hold up all season.

We are in a very bad position. This is not the 3-5 Niners from 3 years ago that had a potent defense and a solid D coordinator and a serviceable STs that can make a deep run. This is an aging team with a stale offensive scheme. We are not getting home field. We will likely miss the playoffs, or squeak in as WC traveling to Detroit or Minnesota at some point.

Sorry folks, the dynasty is over.

What dynasty?

The dynasty reference is for the diehard Shanahan fans that think we're in the midst of our glory years and when and if Kyle gets fired, we will end up hiring Chip Kelly or Jim Tomsula and become a 4-12(13) team again. It's a myth spread by the Kyle bandwagon that he is the only reason we are and can be a SB contender. Therefore the current "success" the team is having is based on the sole notion that Kyle is the force behind it. It's in essence the definition of a dynasty to them.

IMO this dynasty is over. Time to move on…

I think we should fire lunch and shanahan and hire Ben Johnson

100% yes. This team has one goal, and we are not getting there. Time to blow it up.

Idk about blowing it up, but definitely get rid of some players that may not be here next year a little earlier than expected.

If we lose to Dallas, it should be a no brainer.
Absolutely sell. Before the Aiyuk injury, chances of us being a Super Bowl team were pretty slim with our number of concerns. (OL, safeties, D-line pressure, LB depth, DC, STs) For this year to go as many hoped it would, we would've needed Aiyuk to keep progressing and be even a little better than last year. That was a big part to cover up other deficiencies.

I agree and good points....Next year we need to fix some things and we may be ok. I do think the superbowl window is closed for now.

If that's the case, why not get a head start now and get some draft comp to start the next SB window.

could see us trading Hufanga actually

Him and ward. Both expected to be gone in the offseason anyways. Might not get much for an often injured hufanga. Maybe a 4th?

They really show accumulate picks

Exactly what I just asked I the Lynch thread. I didn't realize this these existed.

should we sell to free up cap and accumulate picks to try and reload?
That's what I'm saying. Plus trading a couple of players doesn't necessarily mean tanking the remainder of the season.

The only thing is that lynch drafts horrible

Recent years yes, but this last draft is looking much better.
Puni is a find. Mustapha and green look like solid contributors and I expect the same from Ricky. Finding 4 guys is huge. But we need to do that a few years in a row and preferably in the trenches.

Mike McDaniel and Saleh are coming back in the offseason so… dynasty extended.

McDaniel isn't going anywhere
We lose to Dallas, some tough conversations need to be had about who we sell on. Ward, Floyd, Huf, Banks are the easy ones. I'd seriously consider Trent, Deebo and Kittle too. Those 3 pain me seeing as though they are right at the heart of this core, but they also would yield some of the best returns. Juice too if there was someone out there that values a FB as much as Shanahan.

I think Dallas is going to be a tough game. I know we have owned them. But I feel as though they will surprise alot of people next week.

Micah still hurt makes a difference.

The 49ers have too much arrogance for being a group of losers who haven't won anything. I expect Dallas to put that final nail in the coffin next week. Poetic justice
