YES!
COLLIE ANTONIO LANGHAM – CB – 1998 – Alabama

Collie Antonio Langham (born July 31, 1972) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played college football for the University of Alabama, and was recognized as an All-American. Selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 1994 NFL draft, Langham also played professionally for the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and New England Patriots of the NFL.

College career

Langham attended the University of Alabama, where he played for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team as a defensive back from 1990 to 1993. On the eventual 1992 national championship team Langham, in his sophomore year, he returned an interception for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter of the 1992 SEC Championship Game. As a junior in 1993, he was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American and would win the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back.

"Collie" is one part of his name.
But it isn't there at the end.
His college team – envied by Notre Dame –
with three losses they still got in.

An SEC was won on his Pick 6 score.
The National Title wasn't a dream.
To Cleveland first, then Baltimore,
the 49ers, then Drake Maye's team.

NAME THAT NINER!

I literally was just thinking about this a few hours ago

Thinking about what krizay? The actual question? Hours ago?

"It isn't there at the end" excludes Bruce Collie.

The absence of name that 9er

Oh.
Well, it's absent no more!

The big SEC games on TV, not specifically Alabama. I didn't remember who the player was that did the game winning pick 6 but the different teams he played for sounded familier

That is quite interesting. I still cannot fathom how you knew it was Antonio Langham. Let alone the Collie part. And 1992 was 33 years ago!
He had quite the season here in 98.

5 interceptions with Baltimore in 1996. 3 in '97.
I posted tonight thinking the TNF would be a Tampa Bay blowout dud. And you all would be football wide awake.
But it's turned out to be a Thursday night thriller.

He was a big FA signing and they showed him in his Cleveland uniform a bunch.

I never knew his first name is Collie.
I was just staring at his name, thinking about that Alabama season - the Florida game - and the Miami national title game.
I decided to go ahead and see what Wiki had to say about him. Then "Boom!" His first name is "Collie!"
And then I saw on the Roster list a sole 49er whose last name is "Collie!"
I knew right then and there I had to formulate a question/riddle involving all that.
