Smokey and Kiz can duke it out. They deserve to.

Me against SJ? I literally have no shot. Especially since it's going to be a "T.O.C." which I assume means going to be a tough one. It could be the field versus Smokey and I'm $$$ on Smokey

Oh I can feel the suspense already.
It may not go over well because I would be EXCLUDING everybody on the board, except those 5 or 6 people who answered at least 1 correctly.
There would be a genuine token of appreciation to the winner, which I would privately discuss with that person, to arrange delivery method.
Well, the new season is about to sizzle.
Name That Niner will soon fade away.
Perhaps it may show up again during the BYE week. Or perhaps not.
For now, one more tough, tough question before all the ACTION begins.

The fact that this question is being posted on Labor Day serves as a distant clue (someone became very well-known because of a particular manual labor).
"Serving" is a second, somewhat distant clue (it was what this someone did prior to that particular labor). He was a servant.

This person being described shares a name with a former 49er player.

QUESTION 22

In his famous, centuries old, generally accepted,
first person memoir, in this role,
his first order of service was to the king.
It was a position that placed his life on the line every day.

I got nothing and unfortunately it's an early rise. I have to run for the night.

No, not him.
Renaldo Nehemiah – WR – 1982 – 1984 – Maryland

Football career

Despite never playing football in college, Nehemiah worked out in 1982 for several NFL teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and New England Patriots; he signed with the 49ers. During his three years as a wide receiver he caught 43 passes for 754 yards, a 17.5 average, and four touchdowns. Nehemiah was deemed expendable in 1985 when the 49ers drafted Jerry Rice in the first round, and he returned to the track in 1986.

That was a crazy hard one. Just started looking at it 30-40 minutes ago. I don't think I would have got it.

Not sure I've ever heard of the reference:

Originally, I had included that he was "cupbearer for the king." But that phrase is google-able and would
have straightaway given you the answer.
Renaldo was mentioned a few times in another thread recently.

Also, the "labor" part was him rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
But that too would have made it rather easy.

QUESTION 23

"Collie" is one part of his name.
But it isn't there at the end.
His college team – envied by Notre Dame –
with three losses they still got in.

An SEC was won on his Pick 6 score.
The National Title wasn't a dream.
To Cleveland first, then Baltimore,
the 49ers, then Drake Maye's team.
