Hmmm not sure how I feel about this one. I know he hasn't been anything special but I thought he showed some good things last year and he had a pretty good game vs the Chargers. Hoping we can get him back on the PS if nobody claims him(maybe a calculated move by the 49ers)

Beal made it because he is a good special teams player. The 5th DE guy is not going to get many snaps at DE unless there is an injury. So they are going to take the 5th DE guy who can atleast contribute on special teams.
