Agree. I think Larry Kreuger has a lot of bad ideas, but he may have even suggested that in year 1. I think they were going for another Mostert with that speed. I'd be open to them at least trying. If they are going to make these reaches they need to do a better job of utilizing their skillsets.

Dude, imagine a FB with 4.3 speed on those leak routes where Juice sneaks underneath the defense and is wide open on the backside. Or a freaking clear out route from a fullback that defenses actually have to respect. Now that would be quite the weapon!

I'm game if they can find a John Riggens/Mike Alstot in the draft.

I think that 270 lb TE Pittsburgh drafted a year ago was ideal. Or a crazy athletic but too small to play guard in the NFL type of player (240 to 270 lbs) that can really move some guys to clear holes or plain run over them. That isn't Isaac G BUT he has plenty size. Too much talent to not find a role for him.

One of the reasons its been so hard to replace Juszczyk is because you need both Athleticism and Smarts. (270 Lbs might make it hard for a FB to go downfield) The only guy I see that somewhat meets that kind of criteria is Jake Tonges. I'd love to see Jake as Kyle's new *Juice 2.0* The problem with Jake is that he really needs to beef up his run blocking. He's got everything else.

Jake Tonges is too tall to be a FB. People don't realize how difficult it to maintain pad level and leverage on the move in small spaces. That's why you rarely ever see a fullback taller than 6-2. Most of the best fullbacks in the NFL are 6-2 or shorter.

P-Willy said Vonta Leach was a nightmare to go against because of how low he played. Vonta Leach was 5-11 1/2. One of favorite non-49er players ever.

It's true. I remember the stories. Bowman and Willis playing rock paper scissors who was going to get out of the way. They tracked where he was every single play. Paid more attention to Leech than flacco. LOL. Leech was 260, out weighed bow and pat.

Darn, I was hoping Dinkins could potentially be Juszczyk's replacement. Khalil is 6'3".

Looks like Juszczyk is going to be a 49er again this year. I don't really see anybody challenging him for the FB position right now.

There is no rule t hat says you can't be a FB at 6-4. The last few years the ap all pro first team fb has flipped back and forth between 6-2 Juice and 6-3 Patrick Richard from Baltimore.

This is a hilarious post. You made a claim and literally provided evidence against your own claim.

But nobody said anything about a rule. Also, Juice isn't 6'2"--he's 6'1.25". Ricard is on the taller side, yes, but there's an outlier for everything out there. Go through the list of the greatest fullbacks in NFL history, and the overwhelming majority tend to be 6-2 or shorter.
So this guys done

Pretty much lol. Sucks cause he had such a promising rookie season. We could really use his speed and receiving prowess out of the backfield too. Hopefully he comes back fast (Kyle said end of training camp) and shocks everyone

Yeah, too bad he just couldn't make the grade.

Yeah, too bad he just couldn't make the grade.

Very unfortunate. As soon as I read that, I thought really? There's so much luck involved with this.
