Should've kept Jordan Mason over Isaac Guerendo what a waste of a roster spot.

We weren't gonna pay that much money for a backup RB

Correct. Love Mason but it was a money thing

Ditto x 2

I thought Isaac showed flashes of being a good RB last year. Is he in kyles doghouse like BA once was? I really don't think he could be any worse than Brian Robinson he looks like hes ready to retire when he runs the ball.

He showed flashes of making big plays, but he isn't consistent. Its a big deal in this offense to stay on schedule. I think they, once OL improves, can find ways to use IG, but a fast guy who cannot properly play RB isn't helping much in this system.

he fumbled the ball on kickoff return and was lucky refs blew the whistle early on forward progress (something something Brandon Jacobs fumble in 2011)

Kyle hates when RBs fumble the ball. I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt another carry this year.

He fumbles and he nearly got Brock killed with bad pass protection. You can average 2.1 ypc, but you can't do those 2 things in this offense and get carries

This also happens when you get zero reps. For some reason he was pushed out after filling in admirably last year. In fact, he was a stud last year for us until he got hurt. So strange with KS.

Ever since CMC arrived Kyle has not been able to get the other RBs involved. Before CMC we'd have a good mixture of Mostert and Breida and Wilson.

From what it looks like to me watching the tv broadcast, they let CMC decide when he comes out and goes in. He'll signal to Robinson if he needs a breather. That's what you do with just about all of the other offensive starters but at some point the coaching staff needs to step in and change it up.

Nothing wrong with this, we pay CMC a lot compared to other RB's.

So why not run him into the ground?

This is typically what happens with Kyle. We will run down and out our RB1, then RB2. By end of November we're down to RB3 and plucking guys from waivers and the XFL. Them hopefully by December if we're still in it our RB1/2 can return from injury. So plan on Guerrendo starting by end of Nov.

You need reps to learn to hold onto the ball? He also shows the team a lot more than we see (in practice). I think he's got some good things about him but honestly nervous every time he returns a kick because he's a known fumbler

CMC is leading the league in total yards from scrimmage. Fans worry that he's being over worked but I don't recall anyone worrying about Roger Craig getting too many touches. When your WR corps is depleted you need to use whatever weapons you have and right now CMC is their best weapon.

Are you serious?

  • In 11 years he's only played a full season 4 times.
  • How good is he to you come playoff time when you have run him into the ground, and he's hurt or ailing. Assuming he even makes it that far
  • He's signed through 2027. Why would you run him into the ground if you have 2 more years left on his contract
  • Running backs fall off a cliff after a few years, why not try to extend his career by not running him into the ground

If the team doesn't believe in Guerendo as a RB, they should consider moving him to FB. This guy can catch and was a damn good blocker in college. He's built for the modern position at 6 ft, 225 pounds, which is the exact same size as Juice who dropped to 225 pounds when he got to SF. With Isaac's high-end athleticism, he would present quite a threat out of the backfield as receiver. Imagine a FB on those wheel and leak routes that Kyle loves to dial up for Juice except for a guy with 4.3 speed.

I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud. Not using him at all just seems like a massive waste of talent for a guy who HAS flashed in the NFL.

49ers should look into including Guerendo in a trade for a DE. Jacob Cowing will be coming back and I think he's a much better returner than Guerendo is. Let's say Guerendo and a 3rd for Trey Hendrickson!!!
