Belichick passed to gate torch to Shanny
With him missing the year, does this count as a year for him in contract talks? Will we have to decide on picking up his 5th year option or does it not count since hes missing this year?

I think the Training Staff needs to go they should have known that Ricky would most likely needed surgery. Instead of shutting Him down Mid-season and get Him the surgery so that come 2027 He would be fully healed and ready to go,I really believe that the 9ers have the most incompetent training staff in the history of the NFL. Look at ALL the injuries ,now the rookies are injured ugghh

This isn't the training staffs fault. Doctors say this injury can heal without surgery and surgery isn't a sure thing and it can lead to not playing ever again. That is why players don't automatically get it. Quite frankly i wouldn't get the surgery either without trying to let it heal first in its own.

How many times do we need to explain that this was not mismanaged from the medical plan point of view?

Conspiracy theorists always want to shift blame or make it appear someone was hiding the truth. Some people just have a problem accepting things for what they are. Accidents. Fate. Whatever.

A PCL injury leading to a completely lost 1.5 seasons is the definition of mismanaged.

Completely untrue.

unfortunate does not mean mismanaged

I know having guys with "slippery" builds create some unique opportunities on the field, but I'd just like to go with the "totally and obviously on heaps of gear" types at some point.

It's not uncommon for some injuries like that to adopt a wait and see attitude. They do sometimes heal on their own. There are also surgeries that aren't successful and require a 2nd surgery to correct the issue. Medical procedures are always risky. Ask anyone that's had surgery. They make you sign stuff that tells you about the risks. Sometimes you're worse after the surgery. Recovery times vary from one individual to the next. Nothing is absolute.

Pearsall being placed on season ending IR before the start of the regular season DOES NOT trigger any tolling of his contract status. 2026 will still count as an accrued season. if he had been placed on the PUP or NFI, tolling would've been triggered.

I hope you're right but if a player gets hurt in training camp I figured that'd be a contract year

Shoulda signed Diggs, infinitely better receiver.

He's morally and ethically not a good fit for the locker room . Dude can play on the field, but off the field, has no problem banging your wife/sister .

True, but he is the better receiver and its not close. I mean, what are we getting out of slow, fat, 30 year old Deebo? Besides "he knows the system." Hopefully, won't have to rely on him too much.
