Dudes already old. I hope the team has enough sense to not pay him. Let him walk.

Like I said. Dante Pettis 2.0.

I saw Dante Pettis on red zone catching two passes from Tyler Shough that led to a Ronnie Bell redzone TD lulz.

Gonna love some kid on a forum calling out the toughness of NFL players, especially our own. 🤡
Hard to do what Ricky does on a twisted ankle or bad knee. Hopefully he's improved enough to play next weekend. They need him.

So you want him to play when he can't run or cut well because of injuries? How effective would he have been against that Seattle D?

He played in only 9 games this year and was in and out even in some of the games he played in. His knee never really healed all season and he tried to play through it. It just kept getting injured again. Then he hurt the ankle. Until he can get fully healthy and stay healthy we aren't going to see is full potential.

IMO, when you have the biggest game of the season which you practiced in full all week for, you dont sit out. Makes it even worse when we were hearing Kyle say that if the game was Sunday, he would have probably played.
Tale of the tape. Lets do some comparison here. 2025 season below.

* Jauan Jennings.....55 receptions.....643 yards.....9 TD's.....11.7 average.

* Ladd McConkey.....66 receptions.....789 yards.....6 TD's.....12.0 average.

* Ricky Pearsall.....36 receptions.....528 yards.....0 TD's.....14.7 average.

Pearsall was 1 - 31 in 2024 draft. McConkey was 2 - 34 in 2024 draft. In 2024 McConkey had 82 receptions, 1149 yards, 7 TD's, 14.0 average. Jennings on his own team certainly finds the endzone more and first downs more (3rd and Jauan). McConkey is clearly better over 2 years and I don't think that is close. Not sure how he was the best pick. McConkey was available at our pick if we wanted WR. Other picks and positions were available too. Rodger Rosengarten 2 - 62 in the 2024 draft for OT help. He starts and plays pretty well for the Ravens. Made the All Rookie Team in 2024. Zach Frazier 2 - 51 in the 2024 draft for C of the Steelers. Made the All Rookie Team in 2024. Cooper DeJean 2 - 40 in the 2024 draft CB Eagles. All Rookie Team in 2024 and Pro Bowl in 2025. That one explains itself. Enough said. There were other options on the table at our pick.

He's not really terrible. Pretty fast, good routes, excellent hands, gets open, will make some catches. Just hurt way too much and doesn't play much. He can't seem to find the endzone. That's a problem for a 1st round pick. Mostly it's where he was picked and lack of ability to stay healthy. If you said 3rd or 4th round and we needed WR help you may be able to make the argument. As of now he's not trending 1st round IMO.

I have no expectations that he will play
Really need him this Sunday. With so many injuries, need any remaining playmakers who are healthy enough to be out there - Pearsall is a playmaker. He was missed vs. Seattle. He has a way to create separation & get open. Also has developed good chemistry with Purdy.

Speaking of impact players, also hoping T. Williams can go to give the O-line a better chance vs. Philly's front.

There is a greater chance of me suiting up for the team than Ricky on Sunday.

Now you see, that's some negative thinking right there. If what Shanahan said was true going into the Seattle game, if that game was instead played yesterday vs. Sat., he (and T. Williams) would have had a chance to go. Now, with another seven days to heal after last game, really hoping they'll both be ready to give this team the better chance it needs at both running & throwing vs. a D like Philly's.

He's old?

He was age 24 as a rookie

On a rookie contract including the first round extension the 49ers have his rights for 5 years to age 29

This was part of his draft analysis...probably gets 1 contract and won't be worth extending at full value due to his age when he is a FA
"The other component of that is Pearsall, who looked amazing the like 1.5 practices he was actually healthy since they drafted him, but has a shoulder thing that is now recurring and worrying over the long haul, something they knew about before they drafted him and were hoping wouldn't be a thing."
