In the game, there are going to be exceptional number ones and there are the elites (Rice, Moss, Megatron, etc.)
As for Pearsall, can we at least give the kid one offseason to prepare w/out having to deal with gunshot wounds before labeling dude

Even Jerry Rice struggles againt Torry Holt in each of those windows. TDs are all he consistently wins in(22 in one season will do that) but loses in catches and yards
One thing to keep in mind is WR numbers have a lot to do with QB/OL/RB play, who the other WRs/TEs are on the team, offensive scheme, and how bad the defense is.
True but Holt played with Isaac Bruce who many thought was better and Marshall Faulk. He might have got even more targets if those 2 guys weren't on the team. So many factors that can go into the argument.
One can argue Calvin's Johnson's best year was because the Lions didn't even have a legit #2 or #3 WR. He got all the targets because there was no one else to throw it to!!!
