Then not even sure if it was YOU who said that AN ALL PRO IS A ONE !!

that's why I said JT was never a ONE... HOLT may have become an HOF just like Stallworth, but they were never a ONE..

I gave u all the players who were ALL PROs but never was a ONE..

If Holt is not a #1, what is YOUR criteria for a #1 WR?

Is/was Davante Adams a #1 WR?

first thing's first... lets' stick to your point of .. IF HE'S AN ALL PRO HE'S A ONE..

HOLT - JOHN TAYLOR - JOHN STALLWORTH - WES CHANDLER - HINES WARD - ANQUAN BOLDIN - REGGIE WAYNE - TIM BROWN were never a ONE in MY OPINION..

Who is a #1? not who is not.

#6 #7 #8 in catches, #5 #7 #8 in yards
For WR ALL TIME are not #1s.

It is obviously a VERY VERY short list, so it should be easier to say who is than who is not.

I'm curious too what his definition of a "ONE" is. I'd consider Torry Holt a #1 WR.

Ain't no telling what a WR1 is for moon but to me a WR1 is a guy who can be the #1 WR for most teams today. Keyword being most. There are several WR1s in today's NFL. Jefferson, Chase, Puka, St Brown, AJ Brown, Lamb just to name a few. If you make the All Pro team then its pretty likely your a #1 in my book. Maybe some exceptions but the majority are #1s hence the all pro nod.

This is my criteria. Can you move to any team around your era and be a starter, and outside of a few exceptions become THE GUY. nobody is beating out 5 of the 6 you mentioned, Puka is an outlier.
one of my favorites historically that doesn't get talked about is steve smith

I doubt it. They are wrecked by Holt in seasons 3-6 and 2-8. Seasons 1-9 Jones has 300 more yards, Johnson has 12 more TDs. But Holt beats each in the other category

Even Jerry Rice struggles againt Torry Holt in each of those windows. TDs are all he consistently wins in(22 in one season will do that) but loses in catches and yards

Yes. I considered bringing him up, but Hines Ward was mentioned, and i think they are comparable.

One thing to keep in mind is WR numbers have a lot to do with QB/OL/RB play, who the other WRs/TEs are on the team, offensive scheme, and how bad the defense is.

True but Holt played with Isaac Bruce who many thought was better and Marshall Faulk. He might have got even more targets if those 2 guys weren't on the team. So many factors that can go into the argument.

One can argue Calvin's Johnson's best year was because the Lions didn't even have a legit #2 or #3 WR. He got all the targets because there was no one else to throw it to!!!

You say "True but" which implies you are disagreeing with me. It sure sounds like we agree.

Yes. All of that (i believe) falls in Holt's favor.
Why are we talking about Calvin Johnson and Torry Holt in here? I'm pretty excited about Pearsall this season but I don't think he's on their level yet.

Probably by year 3 tho.

9moon was saying Pearsall is an all pro but not a #1 WR then pointed to Torry Holt as an example

I am not 100% sure myself anymore.

Edit, above post, yeah Jon Taylor was initially used as an example of an all pro WR.
