ALERT! It's Time to Change THAT LOGO!

Shop Find 49ers gear online

(this is an image I made, nothing official).

I'd like to see something like this. It's the current logo with the gold ring removed. I prefer how the S layers over the F instead of cutting through it.

I mean, Eddie is the one who screwed up and lost the team. It stayed in the family, where he presumably still has some say or at least an opinion.

Both Harbaugh and Shanahan teams cant finish in big games. Not sure what ownership could have done for a different outcome.

He was set to have get it back but Denise and the Yorks got greedy and wouldn't give it back and Eddie D didn'tl want to start a family feud and go through the legal battle.

I'll try and find a source, but I thought I remembered hearing that the NFL was reluctant to approve Eddie's return at the time, due to Eddie's dirty dealings.

Had Bill Walsh not interfered, Seifert would have been Cleveland's HC while Jimmy Johnson would have been ours after that Super Bowl against Cincy..

Had Eddie been our owner still, Chris Petersen or PJ Fleck would have been our HC and woulda beaten KC by 13 both times.. and Shanny would have still be the best young mind in football in Atlanta...

I never saw a logo make a TD or a tackle.
even the red color is better in the old version

Somehow need to incorporate that crazy prospector logo from years past on more current team gear. Probably wouldn't be allowed by today's NFL - might be considered "too violent."

The classic pre-1996 logo always looks it has like a brighter shade of red, especially on the helmet decals, even though the 1968-95 and 2009-present logos' shades of red are supposedly the same…weird how that trim of a gold ring creates the illusion of darkening the red in the current logo (along with the connotation it's a darker cardinal red through association with the 1996-2008 logo).

TL;DR just go back to the dynasty logo (1981-1995) permanently and save the equipment guys the extra work of switching out those decals for throwback games.
