Occasional rain showers during the day. More showers during the night. Winds 5-10 mph.

Damn that sux, hopefully it stays dry. It would be great to see the weather and the refs stay out of it so we can see which team is truly the best team.
EDIT: One of you stat-Meisters can confirm…..
The Eagles have never lost a game refereed by Shawn Hochuli?
Bills were penalized 11 times to the Eagles 4 last week.

Because the Eagles are struggling to even beat the average to bad teams. They are the Vikings of last year. Didn't the Vikings only have 1 or 2 losses at this point last year? But people didn't believe they were anywhere near good as their record because they were barely winning the majority of their games.

Winner of this game should be the unquestioned "best team in the NFL".

Not really, outside of the 3 game losing streak, the 49ers have been blowing out teams week in & out, while the Eagles have been squeaking by with luck and questionable calls going their way all year. Also I'm sure fatigue plays a factor for the Eagles while Niners are coming off 10 days of rest
It was barely a 3 game losing streak. Kicker missed a game winner and DC called a stupid defense at the end of the first half of the Vikings game.
We're two plays away from having one loss and they're a few plays away from being 6-5.

For all the talk about the eagles O line and how good they are, their system doesn't protect their QB as well as ours.
49ers
21 sacks
9 hits
61 hurries
Eagles
29 sacks
13 hits
108 hurries

Which QB is more protected on a game by game basis?

Hochuli did a nice spin job on those non calls on social media today.

I'm just hoping his crew is not assigned to any Niner games especially this week.

Are you saying you would rather have the niners Oline than Philly's? If so, I hope your right and they protect Purdy. IMHO I would take Philly's.

Eagles are battle tested with all the close games. Our defense need to shut that offense down.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it took AWHILE for the Eagles to pull away in the NFCC.
Outside of that opening drive with the 4th down catch that wasn't, we did a great job containing Hurts if I recall correctly.
They were up 21-7 at the half. Jalen had 11 carries for 39 yards and a rushing TD. Their offense averaged 3.4 ypc. The passing game was virtually non existent after that 4th and heave it downfield play that occured on their first drive of the game. They gained almost as many yards in penalties as Hurts had passing. Those defensive penalties allowed their offense to get into the redzone 5 of their 6 trips. We couldn't stop their RPO's in the redzone, leading to 4 rushing TD's.
Glad im not the only one that remembers this. There were like 5 penalties on our defense that extended drives and gave them first downs. I bet most of them came on 3rd down. This and not having any offense equated to lopsided time of possession of 37 mins for PHI. All things considered SF did a GREAT job on defense that game. 44 rush attempts for PHI. There were bound to be some leaks eventually. Curious if some of this was due to the game situation. Eagles really never had to pass the ball.
Short summary:
Incorrect ruling on Smiths 4th down drop led to 7 pts for PHI.
Mccaffrey made it 7-7 in the 2nd qtr.
Eagles had a long penalty aided drive to go up 14-7. IIRC there were 3 penalties on this drive alone that gave them 1st downs after DEF had stopped them.
Next possession Josh Johnson drops the snap on our end of the field leading to them going up 21-7 with maybe 30 secs before half. With no viable QB the game was already over at this point.
But think about that. Defense did a mighty fine job when put in context. Eagles had 269 total yards

What this tells me is Purdy is a much faster processor than Hurts is. Take away Hurts 1st read and he will either try and take off and run or he will panic and force something, Fumble, or take a sack. And occasionally will throw up a prayer and hope his receiver comes down with the ball.
