Declaration and observations are entirely different concepts. An observation is a process of gathering information; a declaration is a formal announcement. I followed up my observation that his get off sucks with the qualifier that it could take him a minute to find his comfort zone in the wide 9.

A declarative statement would've been like saying that his get off will forever suck in the wide 9.

Lol wild that I even have to explain this.

This guys started posting and acting like Oscar from the office with his "only what I say is correct" attitude. It's gonna be fun to read his "well actually's" this year because I haven't ever seen him post in the past 12 years of being a member of this board.

Pointing out an obvious flaw isn't a declaration. Also, you weren't a part of the draft process if you think I'm hating on Mykel or don't think he nothing to work on.

His get off is not great, and one of his weaknesses, just like his lack of different pass rush moves.

Lack of explosive first step/getoff is why a lot of people didn't like him. Imo it's not a huge deal. He's not a speed edge rusher and never will be.

Go check out Kyle Posey's channel and watch him breakdown Mykell vs Tennessee on youtube. He shows that Mykell legit has four pass rush moves, just needs to polish them up.

Nah, just got accused of post padding and used the date to prove that wasn't true :)

There is more behind Green than behind Trent Williams :)

Luter and Tre Brown could be functional ... and I think Sigle could play outside CB if needed.
Well I wasn't comparing OT and CB, just commenting on WR vs CB depth

But also Id point out that

1) We know what the 49ers look like with Trent starting, but Green is not a sure thing even though hes had a solid rookie season
2) We also have seen what 49ers look like without Trent, as he's missed games seemingly every year

If Green is not good, Tre Brown/Lenoir and ... Stout is like the worst cb group in the division by far

Come to think about it, there were only two years in the Kyle tenure they didn't have either Sherman or Ward as outside press corner. The very first year under Kyle and the Ambry Thomas/Josh Norman abomination of 2021.

I think people will realize how good Ward and his reputation has been. All our outside corners will be targeted heavily this season if the line can hold the run.

I've been thinking this for months now. I like Lenoir. I kinda like Green but I absolutely do not trust them enough. I feel like every team needs a lockdown corner and I'm not sure Lenoir is that...yet. I just remember back in the 90's when we had the most complete team in the league, except for corner, and we didn't turn the page until we got Deion. Until then, everything else we did didn't matter cuz Aikman would just pick us apart when he needed to.

Don Griffin and Eric Davis were under-rated CBs. I think pointing at 94 and saying it was Deion is dismissing some other MAJOR factors

Gary Plummer ran the defense and he was so good that several members of the team said they all KNEW the play the opposing team was running before the snap because Gary would call it out and he was so incredibly accurate at it they all started just assuming he was right and they just started destroying everyone.

Lee Woodall was a dominant player in coverage and very good against the run.

Bryant f'n Young was a BEAST even as a rookie.

Dana Stubblefield and Ted Washington were still very early in their careers and made huge steps forward.

Ken Norton left the Cowboys for the 49ers.

Bar-None Floyd was dominant as a rookie.

93 to 94 there were MAJOR changes all over the place.

Did you want to give Ward $54M to stay? I'm not sure he's that big of a star.

I think its also understated that the O-line was out of sorts due to injuries. Once guys came back, we got rolling.

Based on what I'm reading about the offseason so far, I'm so happy that Robert Saleh is back.
