I'd count Gifford as the special teams spot and I'd consider Winters and Martin as locks.
Winters isn't a lock.
I'd say he's pretty damn close to being one. He'd make it over Bethune.
Winters is more of a lock than Nick Martin.
For ST yes. Winters is fast but can't wrap up and tackle. If Martin learns his position in the offseason, he can tackle.
Who's the 3rd Lb with Warner and Greenlaw ?
I think martins is going to have an awesome camp and make winters expendable. I think Tatum gets traded.
Warner - Dre - Gifford (ST) - Martin & winters will be the backup. Wallow (or willow? Whatever the hell his name is) will be on PS.
if Martin has an awesome camp, they may trade winters and rock with wallow.
that's my opinion right now. Draft may change that.
I think we keep all these guys:
Warner/Greenlaw
Winters/Bethune
ST = Gifford/Wallow/Martin
Can't have enough LB's due to ST.
I def don't disagree with this. factoring in injuries, it's very possible.
I just think that the FO is going to take advantage of those guys getting film and Winter's expiring contract and try to flip it for some return. just my opinion.
i've a big fan of Martins. I think Martins beats out Bethune and Winters this off season. The length of his concussion recovery was very concerning though. Martins reminds me a lot of a young Greenlaw - both play with ferociousness and relentless attack.
