He's definitely no Greenlaw

Man I wish he didn't get hurt in the SB.

For me, after game 1 and 2 it seems like he doesn't have that same energy he did at the start of the season... maybe got complacent and knowing he has the lb job secured doesn't play with as much energy as before.... thats how I see him the past two games played ...

for sure, but I feel like its cause hes not putting as much energy and effort as the beginning of the season compared to this game.

John is going to have to make a move sometime between now and the Bucs game to get someone in here.

It's not that. They played an excellent team with a great qb with quick receivers. He was getting burned over and over and over again on those short routes where you need some speed. A game like this is where that gets exposed. He was just good enough to be a backup. Fred was fuming out there.Winters is slow

Maybe, but he better light a fire under his ass because Martin is waiting in the wings.

Huff?
I've been hard on Winters, but this season he has one less tackle than Warner.

Tackling is not the issue so far. Pass coverage is, especially when they need a big shutdown play.
Guy has one bad game and folks are ready to bench him It's sports. it happens. overall the guy has been playing well. Now when if it turns into a trend then you an issue. Like we are seeing with Puni. Week after week he's getting his ass whooped. .

He's a LB not a corner back, so he shouldn't be judged on coverage ability alone IMO.

How is his coverage ability compared to other LB's?

You can't excuse bad play. One guy said he's a good tackler, well duh, that's your own words, "He's a linebacker".

Now, it's okay to be a good run tackler linebacker and need to get better at pass coverage. And, it's really silly saying he's not a corner, well duh, he's getting beat by Tight Ends and Running Backs.

If you're saying he's fine, then you're wrong. He needs to get better in coverage. That's what you want opposite Warner. Not an all world but someone that can do the job when he's out there. Warner is a 3 down linebacker Winters is not. He just needs to be better in covering TEs and RBs, period.

Might he get better, totally possible. But right now he's getting beat and some for touchdowns if you've been watching.
