So far through OTAs and early TC, it seems that LB2 is his job to lose.

If you care for Larry Kruger's opinion: he says that Nick Martin has been good, but that Dee Winters has been even better.

Martin could eventually take over. I think he has the skills to be even better. If Winters is ahead it's because he's been here longer. A rookie learning the NFL and a new system and coaching staff is always behind. But it would not surprise me if Martin eventually takes over. He was the better College player IMO. Although Dee Winters was also a good one. Just not quite as good if you ask me.

I think you're right. Having 2 good lb with Warner is a nice problem to have, especially since we lost Greenlaw.
Robert Saleh said LB Dee Winters' coverage ability is "as good as anybody." He referenced being comfortable enough to have a play call where Winters was 1-on-1 with McCaffrey, and Winters ran with CMC down the field and won the rep. Winters allows Saleh to be 10x more aggressive.

Dee Winters has flashed since day 1. The problem has been him staying on the field. How many times have we seen him make a great play and then he gets banged up and has to leave the game. It seems like that scenario has happened 4 or 5 times. So he just needs to stay healthy and finish games without getting hurt.

He just needs to hang on long enough for Martin to get the hang of things.
