Winters was only a 6th round pick, but he's been pretty disappointing. You would think because of his background, he would've been a starter down the road.

Weve been spoiled quite a bit with late rounders. What you see with Winters is what happens with the vast majority of late round picks. Actually I'd venture to guess Winters has started/played more than many 6th rounders historically.
Sucks we didn't get another homerun but it is what it is

Exactly why I started with he was only a 6th round pick. But combination of his background and our history with the late picks had expectations a bit higher.

Shouldn't ever expect starters out the 5th to 7th round. It's great when you can find them there but the plan should be 4 year backups with a chance to go higher depending on play.
Winters is a backup. They need to invest a higher pick in LB in 2025. Can't keepp using late rounders and hope.

Dee flashed big time this year. Sideline to sideline speed and coverage ability really showed up.
He's got to get stronger this year and work on tackling to avoid the missed tackles.
If he can clean that up and stay healthy he could be a legit LB for us

He can't stay healthy, which is the biggest need for the 49ers.
