Pinnock and Sigle had some bad plays too. Want Mustapha back and all the players getting better.

Brown playing as a mid-field downhill safety on early downs makes sense.

Interestingly, the 49ers were having some trouble with Juwan Johnson of New Orleans because Stout is a smaller guy so they opted to bring in Brown as better matchup there. Arizona plays a lot of 3TE sets so we may see a lot more 3 safety looks next week.

I wonder if Martin will be active for the same reason.

Well they've played both Gifford and Bethune ahead of him so far. Martin-Warner-Winters is ridiculous speed honestly just over kill. Winters and Warner can cover the sidelines we need more beef in the middle. Could you imagine if Greenlaw stayed irunning tri LBs packages?
Yeah, middle of the field closer to the line of scrimage works better for him.
So I looked at snap counts, basically this game was spent entirely in nickel, Gifford had zero snaps. So yeah Brown was only in for 7 snaps and I suspect most were in big nickel, I think Dee Winters missed a few snaps. Basically, Brown was a LB/S hybrid which makes sense because even as bad as he's been hes still better than Gifford in coverage.

The point was that they might want more coverage ability available when they are running 3TE as a base offense. Bethune and Gifford are not coverage LBs.

Bethune and Gifford are meh to me in general.

ST of course is more important and Martin may not be at all ready to play ST.

Unless they have 3 receiving threats at TE I think you want bulk against the run. You still have two safteys and two corners. Dee and Warner are more than capable. Thats why I was saying adding Martin might be overkill. Definitely more talented but I think having a vet playing the run might be more valuable than another cover/sideline to sideline LBer

And chances are if Warner or Winters need a break Martin may not be ready for that level of responsibility.
I like him blitzing and if he could pickup the TE or RB if it turns out to be needed then he could make an impact

Good Idier... what WR Would fit the 49ers??

we need speed... both Eagles and the Packers are so much ahead of us that if we get behind them, we won't be able to make a comeback w/the receivers we have.

Texans' Metchie and a 4th in 2026
Packers' Watson and a 5th in 2026

Hopefully our 4 man rush will be disruptive enough to throw the timing off.

Metchie was traded already and Watson just signed an extension.

OMG, I have 9moon blocked or his posts blocked, but now I can see them in replies, yeah Metchie is a Eagle now, and Watson signed a 1yr $11M extension with GB.
