I took Joe, the defenses he played with were a little better and another handicap for Steve was a guy named Brett Favre, that SOB owned the 49ers.

Glad to say we had both.

Super Bowls and HOF! Couldn't ask for any bigger blessings than those two guys.

The only thing that would have made it even better 🤔

"Drafting Mahomes over Solomon Thomas."??

yea maybe

.. or staying with Grappy rather than takin TB..

First two years of Tom and Brock's career...

Brock Purdy 17-4
Tom Brady 11-3

How many rings and SB appearances?

If Purdy wins a 🏆 this year it will be the 49ers 6th super bowl win and ninth Superbowl appearance, when Tom won his first superbowl, it was the Patriots first superbowl win and third appearance.

THE 2ND GOAT - he never dominated any of his SB appearances the way THE GOAT did !!

Montana and Young had Lott and Deion. Brock needs that guy in the defensive backfield.

Old school, I watched all of Joe's games if Joe stays and Steve leaves 49ers have at least two more SB's.
I like Joe but if Steve had played every season like he did in 1994 I think he might have been considered the best. There is just something about Joe that's hard to ignore.

Steve needed 10 pro bowlers to finally get past Dallas. Joe was better with less and more.

Joe was better, but Steve will always be my favorite. Left handed scrambling QB. Just a different type of quarterback. Wish we could have won one or two more in the 90s (92 and 97 for sure) and then maybe we have a legit debate on who was better…

This is great
Young is my guy based on my age. Steve is my favorite athlete of all time. He is the reason I am a 49ers fan. I started watching as a kid in 1992 when Steve really took off with his career.

He will always be my guy. That said I saw Montana play the second half of the last game of that season. He hadn't played in over a year. He was incredible. Fortunately, a lot of old games are on YouTube. It just looks right to see that 16 with his name over it on the nameplate. Watching him play quarterback is sublime. It's immaculate. It's magical. It's precise. To me he is easily the best that ever did it.

We are so blessed to have both of them play for us. I'm glad I was able to catch Steve's career. I sympathize. I sympathize for fans just missed experiencing them.
For the record I refuse to participate in this silly deliberately provocative thread. The end.
