Feel this is a good place to leave this

much like the negative grade DBs get when you don't know the coverage that's called you can't grade a player. If it's cover 3 spot drop or cover 3 pattern match changes assignments but no one at PFF would know if Mable was called. Perfect example was the shot play that everyone's ragging Sigel for. It's very possible the nickel was to match the pattern since it was a vertical but no one knows except Saleh.

I've always disliked PFF and dislike it even more nowadays. It's made football fans dumb. I swear people don't even bother to learn or understand what they're seeing transpire on the football field. They simply want to be spoon-fed what to think by an "authority" like PFF.

I see so many fans (myself included) that think PFF is a joke but they still like to use it. I don't even bother with them anymore.

This is the problem with just about everything nowadays, not just sports.

On paper we're supposed to be the most informed generation in history given we all have encyclopedias in our pockets but now it just seems like we've gotten dumber because we expect our search engines/media outlets/AI to do all the work for us. "Oh, well the Google AI bot told me so!"

I've seen Brendel so many times fall down without barely being touched. The worst part is knowing the coaches are watching the same things and just looking the other way.

Agreed. Brendel is the poster child of the eyes don't lie

Yup. The eye test don't lie
Or offensive line is a joke. Brendel should have been replaced years ago and even old reliable Trent Williams is starting to show his age. Purdy's mobility helps put a band aide on thie OL but in reality, the run game will not improve until Lynch and Shanahan put some quality draft picks or find a free agent and put some money into the offensive line.

Yeah I'll be honest I'm guilty of the confirmation bias PFF can provide. When Fred Warner is the top rated LBer Im like yeah look at that grade. Then Brendel is a top rated Center and I'm like that can't be right. It's great hearing players like JJ Watt who PFF loved talking s**t about it.

Well we are the most informed and the most lazy. It's unfortunate PFF grades are easy to read like a box score but can add some nuance that a box score doesn't provide. It's a tool but the eye test is still the best test for how a player is playing.

Brendel just doesn't want to get injured, smart guy.
Dude is straight trash and has been his whole time with us. Replace Brendel and watch the o line play improve. 💯

So Heroism if we never pay attention to "PFF"s although many cite it and like to bring it up, does that mean we who do not, stay un-dumb?
I'm sort of half-joking. But this struck me in in a personal kind of way in that, well .... , without going all into it, certain corporate structures believe and practice spoon-feeding with their workers.
Forgive me the personal little rant.
Carry on!
