No doctor here but doesn't seem to make sense. How can delay in surgery doesn't change timetable? That's really good news though - he must have spoken to a doctor or a source close to Purdy.

Let's hope both our young guys are ready 100% for training camp.

I'd rather have them wait a little longer and still only need the internal brace surgery instead of something more involved that adds another three months recovery time.

Brock has to get this right and do what is best for his health long term as he doesn't need a bandaid but a permanent fix. Whether this takes 6 months or 9 he just has to be right. In the meantime Trey will take first team reps while we draft another guy and add a free agent QB. Once Brock is healthy we can cut a guy. Ideal case situation is we carry Trey and Brock into the season on the active roster and the drafted rookie can be retained on the practice squad that way we can keep more talent at other positions. I just want Trey Brock and a rookie available in some form or fashions so we have depth at the position

He didn't say it doesn't change the timetable, he said it doesn't change the timeline *much*.

Presumably he means that a short delay now to allow swelling to further fade is better than a potentially longer recovery delay from an inflammation-hampered surgery now.

Bringing Purdy back on in the NFCCG does not seem smart now in light of the sustained swelling. Tough call though. Everybody wanted to win that game.
