We are blessed and lucky to have him. Teams missed on him. People get obsessed by his draft position. But he was mis drafted IMO. If you did it over he would go much, much higher. Maybe even 1st round. He has excellent mechanics, throws an accurate ball, reads the field super well, goes through all his progressions really fast and makes the right decision. It's all you could want.

In a recent ESPN piece in which they re-drafted the 2022 draft, Purdy was selected 4th overall!

I totally agree. He was mis drafted badly. In a do over he goes dramatically higher. Maybe even high 1st round. It's not far off. He sees the field extremely well, has excellent mechanics and throws an accurate ball. Teams search 20 years or more for that sometimes.

Love this guy! Hoping for the 6 month recovery timeline and hope he's back when TC starts. Want to see the two young QBs competing for everything.

Never want an injury, but the 49ers are really in an ideal situation if you have to be in a situation that both your young QBs have to battle back from major injuries.

They should drive each other to be better, and they are not going though this alone. With both of them coming back from being under the knife it should not be Lance vs Brock...they are in the same trench so to speak.

Having said that....damn..... could we not ask for better personalities? Both of these young men are just A++.

There are so many grade 1 jack asses in the league, and QBs go super diva as much as anyone, and we get two skilled guys that have absolute great personalities.

We got lucky...simple as that...

I know teams interview and send out private investigators and all that....but still, I don't think teams get enough time to really suss out what they are being told compared to what they are seeing (acting or real). I think luck still plays into that.

100%

Two class acts - really happy to have both of them on the team. Can't wait to see how things unfold and how they push each other and themselves. Couldn't be happier about our QB room.

They both even share a similar faith.

Proof not everyone is perfect.

Looking forward to seeing Purdy come back healthy, hopefully by TC, with no lingering effects. Was just so impressed with how ready he was and how he just stepped right in during that Dolphins game. He was very good that game and going forward to keep this team winning where it almost gained home field advantage in the playoffs (that is going to be big next season and hopefully they can get it...such an advantage to have playoff home games along w/ the first-round bye).

When he's back healthy, want to see him continue to improve as an NFL QB. With his competitiveness along with all his previous QB experience and what he showed this past season, really thinking he's going to use this injury downtime to examine areas where he can improve and then practice/improve on them when he's back on the field. We'll see, but looking forward to seeing what he can do healthy in Year 2.

Well put.

Aaron just wants to be Brock's backup that's all.

Yeah that's right. It's obvious. He's a steal.

Aaron Rodgers has pedophile level facial hair
Good honest assessment of both our QBs

Cosell is the best in the business.

Just amazing:). Why the success had to be cut short just makes no damn sense, s**t happens but hope he has a long, wonderful career:)

BTW, Aaron got a haircut? Looks much better 👌 lol.

He sounds very defensive for missing on Purdy

"All of a sudden people on Twitter are telling me I have to apologize to Brock Purdy"

"Well you know, we saw Nick Mullens with Kyle...."

The guy sounds like a clown here. We all noticed he was going to that roll back to the left too often, but this is a lot of shade for a QB that just did something unprecedented. He sounds mad lol

Hahaha calling Cosell a clown. Nah he doesn't care about your feelings. He one of the best QB evaluators and has been watching film longer than you've been alive I'll bet. Man you're trying way too hard.

He basically said he can't claim he's the second coming of Montana after 6 games. Rightfully so AND he is correct saying the last couple games he wasn't seeing the field as well as he was earlier. He wasn't throwing with anticipation like earlier. Like I said! Doesn't mean he can't (because he has) or he won't improve. Cosell calling it like he sees it. It's not rose colored fandom glasses.

Love how you left out the rest of the comment with Mullens vs Brock. Love how you left out the part about people telling him he needs to apologize about Brock after the first game. You know people can actually listen to it, right? You leaving out parts to try and make Cosell sound less knowledgeable or try to devalue him is p***y s**t.

As far as what he said about Lance, I agree theres really no conversation to be had. Kid hasn't played football. I agree overall he hasn't seen the field well in his short amount of time playing. Not shocking for a 22 yr old QB stepping into the league a yr removed from playing football with 300 passing attempts to his name.

Cosell is not admitting he is wrong and trying to say he was right.

Saying Brock is like Millens is ignorance or desperation.

I like Cosell because he´s fair. He has no bias.
He´s right that you have to let Purdy play more games to really know who he is.
That being said I don´t agree with the roll to the left thing.
Purdy rolls to his left most of the time because that´s the only thing he can do when he´s pressured. Obviously if he could go to his right he would. It would be easier for him to throw running on the right side. And I don´t see this roll to the lef thing as a weakness because it´s not like he´s a turnover machine after that. At worse it´s a throw away. There´s no sacks, no interceptions, no fumbles. There was the sack against the Cardinals against Isaiah Simmons but that´s about it. Sometimes when Micah Parsons is running after you, you do what you can.
He has to be better at stepping up in the pocket, that I would agree with Cosell.
At the end of the day he´s just a rookie, so you can´t be too critical on him but at the same time you should wait before calling him the next big thing.
